Probably because he is one of the most recognized and known person who ever existed.
Look at whoever is well known, rich or in power and you will see others criticizing them.
There are several explanations for this : Jealousy, mischief, an evil heart, boredom, just wanting to say anything for a reaction, hate, misunderstanding, lack of wisdom, tongue faster than the mind so on and so forth......
Do not be troubled by that, Jesus isn't. In fact, I'm betting that right now Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, Jacob and the rest of the prophets ( peace be upon them ) are probably sitting around a table, feasting and laughing and having a grand ol' time discussing how vain and absent minded us Humans are. Then God intervenes in their party and states " Hey!! they've only been on my earth for a few millenniums! Don't pick on them, lol, they're still learning and I still love them....."

No where. Not in one place in the New Testement or Old say that Jesus was a prophet.
Matthew 12:32 - And whoever says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
But fortunately for you, there is this verse.

It stands to reason that those people who say they do not believe in God or say slanderous things about Jesus are really looking for a way to understand, and in my opinion be convinced that God is real and Jesus did die on the cross and rise from the grave on the third day to forgive all sin. If those who do not believe actually did not care they would not comment about it. But they can't ignore it because something deep inside them will not let them. God never moves and never changes. He is always there and always ready to forgive us, He loves us and gently reminds us He is real. People are the ones who turn their back on God an ignore all the ways He communicates with us.

When will you quit disrespecting Jesus Christ? He is NOT a prophet. He is the Savior of this World! Jesus Christ is the only one true God. He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) without going through Jesus.

It's the same way christians dispespect other religions.
I won't belittle some one for their beliefs, but I have my own, and when I am told I will go to hell if I don't repent, well...
I take that with just as much disrespect as a catholic who is told, Jesus wasn't the son of God. (Keep in mind that was an example, I do believe he was) It is a two way street, how can you demand respect, if you are not willing to give it.
All religions, and God's should be respected, yes even Jesus, rest his spirit.

You won't find Christians blowing up super markets either.
Healthy questioning and doubt (doubting Thomas) are what's good about religions. That's where we get reformations from.
I think Jesus would encourage debate and welcom the opportunity to be challenged, discuss and inform in a Socratic/dialectic manner.
