I am not saying mothers shouldn't go out. What I am saying is leave the big Sss stroller at home! CARRY WHAT YOU NEED! YOUR CHILD! I don't want you pushing your offsping on the back of my heels! I am not there to open your doors! I am not going to move out of your way because you find it necessary to bring toys/ blankets, dippers, and what ever the hell you pull out your mini van!

I don't mind a regular stroller too much as long as they're not using it to push people around. (Remember the strollers we grew up in? simple little seats with a strap for a footrest and the candy cane handles? Now they're these super-upholstered, canopied, swiss-army strollers).

OK, but what really REALLY does get to me is these double SIDE-BY-SIDE doozies. for god's sake, people. your kids aren't going to get a inferiority complex if one has to sit in front of the other (yes, that IS an argument for the side-by-side ones that I've heard). And to top it all off, I was at the mall last weekend and TWO women were meandering along next to one another, each with a side by side double stroller. And they acted irritated that _I_ wanted to get past them.

THAT is when I think humanity has lost all sense of decency.

In really large malls strollers can be a necessity if you have a child under one year. What I did was bring the hubby too and we would take turns going into stores so we didn't bring the strollers into the stores.
What I find more rude is the big fat people who aren't disabled because they are injured, but are disabled because they are too fat, and they use those little scooters that they have for customers who ARE disabled in the grocery stores. I've been ran over a few times by those people.

Why don't you try to go shopping with a toddler who likes to run and scream and play 'catch me' WITHOUT the benefit of a stroller to strap the kid into!!!

You are part of a society of men, women and yes children.
That means you have to share air, space and malls.

And in your case if that means just being a little more patient and a little less JUDGEMENTAL then there is your contribution to society.

I have never pushed past people or been rude when walking with a stroller. I have never asked for help with the doors and have always been grateful when someone has offered.

Don't generalize!

Big old baby strollers with loads of baby bags and crap are annoying when the mom insists on trucking it through the store so that no one can get around it. I realize you can't leve the baby out in the hall, but it is still necessary to think about those around you. (1st time moms especially)

The other thing I hate it the napsacks - why do kids need huge napsacks and need to carry them all over? When they turn around you get batted with this huge bulk and they don't even feel it. What the heck is in those things anyway - surely it can't be homework!!

haha - I'm totally venting. Actually I'm not bothered that much by the strollers.

Not all women with children in strollers are rude. And just what are they supposed to do with their child when they pick up articles to purchase? Put the child down and have some freak take the child? Get a babysitter just so they can get groceries? As for the door issue, most malls now have automatic doors that open with the push of a button so they certainly do not need you to open the door for them. Get real, dearie.

I don't think they're rude at all. I've yet to encounter someone pushing a stroller who was anything but kind to me. I'm one of the stroller-pushers (and yes--one of the side by side ones to boot!) and I'm always polite. I realize it's going to take me longer to get around that someone who's there to get one thing, try it on, pay, and get out, so I generally let other people go before me (including getting on and off elevators).

Who I find rude are the people who walk three or four side-by-side through the mall (usually teenagers) or the people who are practically *creeping* along, just farting around taking up space and wasting time, forcing me to walk behind them at a snail's pace.

Personally, I would rather see a mall FULL of double strollers than to see parents who SHOULD have their child(ren) in a stroller, yet decide to let them walk.

Did you ever think that maybe those mothers take their strollers for convenience? If she had a baby in one arm, first of all, she would get extreme pains in her arm. Then, she would have to hold all her shopping bags in the other hand, and shop all at the same time! Of course she needs to carry her stroller, so she can carry her baby, do her shopping, carry her shopping bags AND carry her baby bag. Depending on how long she is going out, she will need to take her baby's blanket, food, milk bottle, etc. because children get hungry and cold very fast. If she is out for 3 hours, and all of the a sudden the weather changes, her child can get pnemonia (spelling?) or he may cry for his milk for 3 hours straight. Have some sympathy for them, please. Mothers are very hard working. Ask your own mom, I'm sure she worked quite hard to raise you.

They are f---ing awful and they think since they have had a "child" they are somehow elevated above everyone else.

Last I checked, it didn't take any exceptional talent to get knocked up. I honestly don't know why people seem to think suddenly they are very special people on a mission from god when they become parents, and the non-parents of the world are just plankton or something.

I guess being rude to other people is the only way they know to console themselves for ruining their lives by having a baby.

Sorry to sound bitter. I didn't used to have this kind of attitude but after losing good friends to motherhood and having my ankles rammed by little trolls whose parents think its cute to let little madison push the cart, well, I have sort of a different perspective.

And another thing parents, yes I DO love my dog as much as you love your brat.

Exactly! I think they should shop online and keep their little b@stards and their big azz strollers at home where they belong! We have a 2 floored mall in our town. I love the stores on the upper floor. Unfortunately, there are several Mommie & Me type yuppie stores up there also. I swear! If one more Muthah runs her screaming devil spawn up the back of my heels again and then tries to look cute...she's goin' over the railing!

Anyone with the attitude that they are better or more deserving are rude. It doesn't matter whether they have strollers, wheel chairs, or skate boards. Common courtesy can go a long way into making life more enjoyable for everyone.
