For starters, my computer is busted and I can't add details, so I"m stuck reposting the question. Secondly, I'll add more information because I was obviously lacking in that department.

I'm a little sick of all the bashing and hating going on here. Let's try something new.

Please, do one of the following:

Either state something nice about a religion or belief opposit of yours. (I find it refreshing that some pagans (and I could have said Baptists, Athiests, Muslims or what have you, as long as it is not the particular branch you believe in) can see things from many points of view, like my friend and adopted brother. He's a spiritualist who often helps me with religious issues and life issues)
Or, say something nice about someone on this board who believes differently from you. (I respect Southpaw and Spooky because they show respect for all religions on this board and ask thought-provoking questions)

Please, be nice. Thank you.

hmm

your story of the adopted brother reminded me of a saying that belief and faith are two different things.

people might have different belief systems but some people have the same faith in a good, merciful, God or creator and they are positive towards the world. wish everyone was like that.

And to answer your question:

Thing I like about christianity: pride is a serious sin and most christians arent arrogant people-makes full sense to me

Judaism: theyre very united among themselves and protect each other a lot-also a good quality, the lonely lamb is eaten by the wolves?

Thanks for the question ^^ God bless

Though an atheist, I've come to deeply appreciate the wisdom of the Sufis and certain Moslem writers. In the spirit of sharing, my favorite poem by the great Rumi, incidentally a Moslem and a great thinker which I hope even rapture-ready Christians will be able to appreciate:

Be Lost in the Call

Lord, said David, since you do not need us,
why did you create these two worlds?

Reality replied: O prisoner of time,
I was a secret treasure of kindness and generosity,
and I wished this treasure to be known,
so I created a mirror: its shining face, the heart;
its darkened back, the world;
The back would please you if you've never seen the face.

Has anyone ever produced a mirror out of mud and straw?
Yet clean away the mud and straw,
and a mirror might be revealed.

Until the juice ferments a while in the cask,
it isn't wine. If you wish your heart to be bright,
you must do a little work.

My King addressed the soul of my flesh:
You return just as you left.
Where are the traces of my gifts?

We know that alchemy transforms copper into gold.
This Sun doesn't want a crown or robe from God's grace.
He is a hat to a hundred bald men,
a covering for ten who were naked.

Jesus sat humbly on the back of an ***, my child!
How could a zephyr ride an ***?
Spirit, find your way, in seeking lowness like a stream.
Reason, tread the path of selflessness into eternity.

Remember God so much that you are forgotten.
Let the caller and the called disappear;
be lost in the Call.

This is a repeat answer:

I like the way some Pagans find the beauty in the world around them.

I like pangel, because she's always sweet, I like Spooky's thoughtful questions.

Oh, and I love that you gave us an opportunity to set things aside and be nice for a change.

YOU are right. I RESPECT all the true Christians on here, and all that do not make fun of my LORD. I find some of the questions from others OK. My goal in this life is to help people see the truth, not to be wishy washy about being a Christian, that is what I am, and I thank GOD for it . If I offend people that is Not my intent at all, but I will tell them the truth. And I will defend the word of God..

I'm a Christian and i really have no problem with others who don't share my beliefs. I'm not about to bash someone over the head with my Bible. I feel that people need to explore the world around them and the if the want choose. If not that's pretty much their business. I can't fault those who don't believe in a higher power. It's not my job. We all just need to learn to live our lives.

Here is something refreshing. My son came home from school yesterday and said that some of the kids had kicked off because they have had to learn about the sikh religion. He then added 'I don't know what the problem is I found it quite interesting'. and proceeded to tell be about the 5 ks

Ok, your instruction was to say something nice about a religion or belief opposit of my own.

My belief is in truth, whereever it can be found. The opposite of that would be people who believe lies.

OK, here I go. I am genuinely amazed how someone can be so convinced in things that just are not true. Honestly, if I could only be so convinced of things that ARE true as some people are in things that AREN'T, I believe I'd be a rich man. But I just don't seem to have that ability. They amaze me and keep me in total awe of them.

Now, can I have my 10 points? PLEAAASSSSEEEEE??????????

Personally I think it would be nice if people could answer without the hate.

I'm envious of anyone who has 'found' religion. It must be nice to be able to have faith in something like that. Personally I can't but I love the idea of it.

Living life through metaphors is actually quite beautiful and a testament to the power of fiction. I wish I had been a viking so I could look up at a thunderstorm and imagine Thor's Chariot racing across the sky. Yes, it's much more fun to live without knowledge.

]i am a catholic but i must say i really admire
true followers of Buddha .you don't see them starting wars or committing acts of terrorism
they are also very tolerant of others beliefs unlike some religious folk of christian /Muslim /Hindu beliefs
i believe that if more people followed some of the Buddhists ways [without necessarily changing their religion] the world would be in a better state
