The company where I work has just informed me that they will be canceling our medical benefits at the end of this month. What are some decent plans that I can get on my own that aren’t too expensive. I was paying $100.00 per month thru my job and would like to keep my premium around the same. I live in Wisconsin. Thanks for any advice.

Try ehealthinsurance.com

They will list down all plans that are available within your area and you can pick and choose what kind of plan you want that's within your budget. I think they also offer dental insurance as well.

Good luck!

If you are in good health you can contact most insurance companies such as State Farm, Blue Cross, etc. They may have individual or family policies that meet your needs.

If you are overweight or have other "uninsurable" conditions such as diabetes then you will be unable to get an individual policy. At that point, your only option is a high risk group plan if offered by the state. Not all states have this as an option, though.

Being an "uninsurable", I was never able to get quotes for what the plan would have cost me for monthly premiums.

Quit, you need to find a place to work that will help you. Canceling your medical benefits is a CLEAR sign your company is about to tank.

Health insurance is $300.00 plus a month.
