It's a great thing, for the guy, he gets the benefits and doesn't have to worry about the emotional issues, for the woman it's not as good, for women there is an emotional connection when she has sex, and it doesn't help that she agreed to it only being friends with benefits. If your a career woman and have very little time to give to a relationship then go for it, but if your not, you may want to rethink the benefits part.

it depends on the people involved and their expectations going into the situation. I haven't found the "friends with benefits" plan to have any real longevity. I think people naturally crave a deeper connection to the person with whom they are sleeping for any length of time. If your proposed sexual encounter is more of a one-shot-deal, then the friends with benefits plan might work for you, assuming you don't get jealous when your friend moves on and starts sleeping with someone else.
Depending on what you expect to have with this person, a friends with benefits situation is nothing to be entered into lightly. I know it seems all casual and cool, but you could really F-up a friendship.

as long as both freinds are benifitting each other only,, and niether is promiscous(sp?). then its not a problem,,i had a freind like that then we both met other people and still remain friends but without the benifits,, i mean the sex was awesome,, but not worth losing our current relations..

Bad...someone usually ends up with a broken heart, usually the girl...not to mention the possibility of a disease or pregnancy and the repercussions that causes.

Very bad. There's a good chance if you do this long enough an "accident" will happen. You're not even willing to date the guy --- so don't risk starting a family with him.

It can get bad when one of you start wanting more than they are wanting/willing to give. Someone will end up hurt and then the relationship will be over.
