I don't think it has any effect on your insurance. I think they look at moving violations like speeding, reckless driving, failure to obey a stop sign. Can't say for sure, but common sense and what I know about insurance in another state tells me it won't. But if you go to traffic school you avoid points on your license, and I believe the insurance company does check the # of points.

Why would traffic 'scool' even be an option in a non-moving violation?

I dont' have direct experience with it but I would assume it wouldn't make a difference to your insurance because it is not a moving violation - just like parking tickets won't increase your insurance.
