That depends on what kind of Freezer
The normal household freezers can freeze to -20 degrees and it should be safe for 3 months.
However there are commercial freezers available which can go down to -70 degrees. This can prolong the life of meat for 6 months or longer.

Its important that meat products are frozen immediately after sacrificing since longer exposures could reduce the shelf life and freshness even inspite of freezing

In addition to what others have said, I think that it also depends on if you have a self defrosting freezer (also called a frost free freezer) or not. If your temp stays constant, then your meat will last longer (thus a freezer you have to defrost manually will keep meat longer.) Frost free freezers automatically go up and down in temp in order to keep your freezer "frost free" so you cannot keep food in it as long. I would say just watch for freezer burn, make sure meat is wrapped well, and date everything when you freeze it, if you haven't already!!! Rotating meat every couple of months also may be a good idea depending on how much you have, making sure you put the oldest meat towards the front/top so you use it up first.

It will last about as long as it had left until it expired when you put it in the freezer. You can keep it frozen for over a year and it will still be fine.

it will be safe for more than a year. If kept only in a freezer bag, not vacuum packed, it will get freezer burn after 3 months. This is assuming that your freezer is at 20degrees F or below. Freezer burn isn't harmful, but your food will pick up other flavors and taste funny.

Ground meat or beef steaks usualy last in the deep freexe more than a month but depends when the meat will be used. If it is going to be used right away or later on.

I have always heard 6 month, but it is probably OK as long as it doesn't have any freezer burn.
