I suppose we all have chased the "wrong" guy or girl somewhere along the way. I love to listen to music and always assumed that me and a compatible gf would listen to the same stuff. With the current gf I realized something. Me and one of her best friends listen to a lot of the same stuff. It occured to me that that should make sense. Any thoughts?

If this is not one valid test of compatibility, then what do you use? Does anyone else think about it or is it just whoever you're attracted to?

Yes it makes sense. What you are saying is that your girlfriend is drawn to someone who likes a lot of the same things her best friend does, yes?

Being compatable with someone does not mean you like the same music, and just because someone likes the same kind of music as you doesn't mean you would be compatable with that person. There are a lot of different things that could determine compatability, not just music. I am sure there are many girls out there that like the same music as you.

All in all, you shouldn't leave your girlfriend for her friend just because her friend likes the same music as you and your girlfriend doesn't.

I think that your thinking is way to superficial to be looking into relationships....its good to have commonalities between you, but its not a sure sign of compatiblity. The girl that listens to the same music could have a big issue with the way your personality is, whereas the one you are currently with, could think your personality is great. Re-think your logic on this one.

I really don't get the question. When your compatible with someone it doesn't mean your going to like all of the same things.

What are you trying to get to?
it makes no sense, not all couples like the same things. thats how some relationships work.

IF YOU DUMP YOU GF THEN DON'T DATE HER BEST FRIEND! but opposites attract and don't break up with her because she has different taste in music! that would be wrong!
