Yes, it seems that the Truth should be apparent to everybody, everywhere, without any arguement...it seems if you are fighting over what you think Truth is, then it seems logical that you probably aren't on the path toTruth in the first place.

26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. 27God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. (Act 17)

29But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deut 4)

Also, a quote to go along with the excellent point made by the entry below mine....

…but it was of the essence of the trial
you shouldn’t understand it at the time.
It had to seem unmeaning to have meaning.
And it came out all right.
I have no doubt you realize by now the part you played
To stultify the Deuteronomist
And change the tenor of religious thought.

The point is the example and not the words used to describe the example. For instance, you asked a question on gravity last night the importance is not on the words you use to describe gravity...but the mere fact that it exsists is enough.

So, the Bible (used to describe Christ) is enough regardless of how silly it appears. Maybe the appearance of silly is part of the mystery...

Or, wouldn't God haven't written a book that would hold up over time. Now people pick and chose what parts are applicable to their lives and which are out of date. Why would God write a Bible that is going to expire?

The bible discredits the existance of God. Why would any sane person worship an all powerful being who could send them to hell?
