can someone explain to me what a dedication is please? i know this might be a stupid question?

heres the deal : my kitty got selected to be in the cutest pet photo book , so i can either make biography about him and our family or a dedication , now would the dedication be for my kitty or a family member ? any ideas on what kind of deciation i could make ?? my kittys name is boots and hes a grey taby - thanks !

The dedication can be to anyone you want. Usually things are dedicated to someone who helped you do whatever you're dedicating to them, or someone you want to be remembered, generally one who has some relationship to what you're dedicating to them.

I don't think you'd dedicate a picture of Boots to Boots, but you might want to dedicate it to someone who was instrumental in bringing Boots into your life, someone who rescued him, that sort of thing,

If the choice is between a dedication and a bio, well, if I was reading the book I'd like to see something about Boots, so I guess I'd suggest doing the bio rather than a dedication. But the choice is yours.

Depending on how you got Boots, maybe a dedication would also tell something about him...? Like if someone rescued him and gave him to you, the dedication would show your gratitude to them and tell something about Boots at the same time.

A dedication would be for someone (in this case human or animal) or some cause you would like to honor.

Ex: this photo is dedicated to my cat [name] who passed away XX years ago.

Hmm I would rather do the biography. My rat Kasha is going to be in that book!! I was so happy when they said she was one of the cutest pets. Can't wait for the book!!
