Maybe they were all hybernating and all woke up at different times in a stupor until they just walked away. There is an infinite number of possibilities. I don't know, I wasn't there.

there can be a simple explanation to it.... since the existence of a species is very important for life to survive on earth..... if there is no food for a lion ... then lions will become extinct..... and in turn life itself will cease...... lions eat to live ...... its not a sport for them to kill everything it pleases.... a lion kills for a purpose ... to survive ..... it doesnt kill for pleasure...... so without the intervention of humans.... life on earth would blossom.... we are destroying nature....knowing it will kill us..... the conciousness in nature is more intelligent and life supporting.... or ....... us ?
