You did exactly the right thing. Ignore the inconsiderate jerk. Drive safely and don't let other poor drivers force you into making bad decisions.

I had a similar situation once. I was driving a friend home from work one morning and in order to get to her house I had to make a right turn out of the shopping center (where we worked at the time) and cut across 4 lanes of traffic in order to get to the left turn lane I needed to be in to get into her neighborhood. This one particular morning traffic was really heavy and there weren't any hole shots that I felt I could safely make. No big deal for my friend and I, we just kept talking and patiently waited. A woman eventually pulled up behind us and after a few seconds started blaring her horn at us. We thought at first that it was just one of our coworkers messing around with us and wanting to say hi but then we realized it was just some extremely pissed off woman. There was nothing I could do though, traffic was way too heavy and I couldn't merge, not even to get out of her way. Eventually, and it was only like 2 minutes later (about the same amount of time you would have to sit at a red light), the traffic died down and I pulled out and merged over into my left turn lane. The woman who was behind us sped out afterwards and the whole time she had a mad face on and was shaking her fists at us.
You did the same thing I did. We looked at her in disbelief that anyone could get that angry and then just went back to talking to each other. I still to this day think about that situation though. I know I handled it in a mature way and the situation was in no way my fault. Sometimes I like to imagine if I had had some sort of weapon in the car though I would never do anything in reality even if I did have a weapon, rest assured. Everybody gets angry when they're driving but it takes maturity to just let it go when another driver is being irritating. Kudos to you!

You left the idiot alone. It's one thing for him to have honked the horn if he felt you were taking too long, but to drive recklessly and harrass you, it sounds like he's bound and determined to kill someone on the road one day.
You did the right thing, although people like him understand only one type of language... A good a** kicking.

Well , sounds like he was the one being an @sshole. What you did was smart. You just can't tell about people anymore and when they are going to shoot you or run you off the road. Don't ya just love road rage? So silly!

With respect to someone calling you an @sshole? Just what you did - roll up your window and be done with them. People like that aren't worth your time.

You did fine. With the guy that called you the name, it wouldn't have matter what you did, he still would have called you that. I'm sure that won't be the last time he has road rage. Some people are just impolite.

You did the right thing. Why even acknowledge a jerk like that. Besides people have been killed during road rage. It's not worth it.

Exactly what you did - plus I would have locked my doors. He was the one in the wrong and by acting out he showed exactly what kind of person he is. If you had acted back in the same manner you would have only lowered yourself to his level of thoughtlessness.
