most believe that , in global warming, the northern ice caps will melt, which will cause a rise in water levels and possibly flood over sveral major islands including indonesia, japan, the carribean, ect. it may also flood the coasts of all or most of the continents. there is also a famous theory that the melting ice caps will cause a disruption in the north atlantic current and the entire northern hemisphere will freeze over, it has even been made into a movie (the day after tomorrow). also, warming can cause a greenhouse effect, where gasses will burn holes in the ozone layer of the atmosphere (there's one over antarctica i believe). the problem is, the ozone layer is the part of the atmosphere that protects us from the sun's ultraviolet rays, UV rays can cause serious sunburn, sunstroke, and are the main cause of skincancer. it might even become so severe that anyone who comes into contact with these rays will die, instantly.

Due to the stupid activities of the mankind the polar ice caps are melting which results in the submersion of coastal areas. Man is making deforestation at peak and not taking preventive measures to meet the needs of the future. So, the earth must be covered with green blanket i.e., trees must be planted every where and control of human population must be done. As deforestation results in the increase in CO2 levels which results in the global warming. Recent studies revealed that the melting ice in polars is releasing the methane gas at twice the level of CO2 which may be more dangerous. This is because the ice traps methane gas in it. The man's industrialisation must be eco-friendly and must not effect the environment. Ultimately the mankind would be the first sufferer.

First over 80% of all people living on earth live near a coast
with sea levels raising to the maximum of 200 feet that would drive many inland...

90 percent of species currently living now are expected to die off..
In the mid-1990s forests covered about one third of the world's land area -- probably around half the original extent before human intervention

global warming could turn most of the forests into grass plans...

really the list goes on and on...let's just say it's about as bad as it gets and a child born today would live to see it happen in their life time.

Nothing will happen. When the glaciers and Icebergs melt, water dsplaces it's self. It is actually on average 2 degree's cooler than in the 1800's. There never was a "Clean Earth". Back in the day everyone burned coal for home heating and tranportation. The skies were black alll year round. so since it has cleared up, smoke all you want, tear the muffler off your car and burn garbage all you want. The left half of the country is wrong and everyone knows it!
