the dinghy they all travelled in was infested by ants, he didn't mean to take them...say that he sort of forgot, but he was lucky.

Don't have to tell bugs/insects to follow a bunch of animals. They just go. So I think all the bugs and insects were with the animals in the first place or living among the wood and hay and food that Noah brought aboard the Ark.

Well, he had two anteaters. Did the ants survive? And what about termites? Would they not have been eating parts of the ark? No mention of damage in the bible.

Why would he need to take any? Been to any of the severely flooded areas in New Orleans of late. They still have ants, and they were flooded a lot longer.

Anyone who has ever taken a garden hose to an anthill (like me) knows ants float. So they weren't on the ark at all.

Gen 6:20
of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
KJV
God knew. God arranged for the correct number and gender of ants to "come unto thee".
Noah didn't have to worry about it.

Only 2. But they kept reproducing and He'd have to kill all but two.
