However God also created talented scientist and doctors and inspired them to produce techniques and drugs to help humankind, under these circumstances is it wrong to refuse their assistance?
would this come under 'God helps those who help themselves'?.

if god want it to be like that he wouldn't have blessed this earth with with doctors if everyone was to be healed of just a prayer than there will be lots of people loving god for the wrong reasons.if you had 10 million dollars and said who ever calls me the most can have 1 million of it and you really pay the winner what do you think will happen if you say at the end of every year i will give away another million but only to the person who loves me most even the people that hate you will start sending you gifts showing you fake love. that's how Lots of people will look at god if he doesn't let a doctor be a doctor.and remember the ones that god wants he takes the doctors cant save of all.

James 2: 14-17. The Message
Dear friends, do you think you'll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it? For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved and say, "Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!" and walk off without providing so much as a coat or a cup of soup—where does that get you? Isn't it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense?
18I can already hear one of you agreeing by saying, "Sounds good. You take care of the faith department, I'll handle the works department."
Not so fast. You can no more show me your works apart from your faith than I can show you my faith apart from my works. Faith and works, works and faith, fit together hand in glove.

God is not against people being well.
If He controlled everything that happened on earth, He would also control everything you do. Meaning you would not have free will. How would that make any sense?
Your argument is weak. I'm not sure of the point you're trying to make, but come on, I'm not stupid enough to believe that everything that happens is God's fault.
Science has done a lot of good for us. I see nothing wrong with people being healed by science. But when they are healed by God, it just gives us another reason to praise Him! And believe me, people are miraculously healed. I know more than a few.

God has endowed all of us with many gifts. While medicine is Science, it had to come from a thought from somewhere.
I see surgeons and doctors as doing God's work in a way.
He has provided these gifts of healing to them; after all, He was "the Great Physician and Healer", wasn't he?

God gave everyone gifts. Including those Dr's and Surgeons. God uses those gifts in people to inspire as well as protect his children.
A writer soothes a worried soul with the words God has given him through the gift of writing. The artist inspired the soul through the works of his hands that have been guided by God. The Dr gives you another day by using the gifts that God has given him or her.

God often works by giving others the abilities and inspirations needed to help others. Can God work through the skills of a doctor? Oh yes.

So you're suggesting that doctors and surgeons waste their
God given talents to save lives.

Sometimes God makes things happen, sometimes God allows things to happen in His infinite wisdom because they are part of His plan.
It's wonderful when doctors can help us regain our health. God allows them to. But when we have to accept His hand, we need to do that without demanding a right to oneself. We are not our own, our lives are a gift; my life is not mine, it's God's.

Maybe God's plan is to have the doctors fix them. Try thinking before you ask
