Hi, I'm new to the whole weight lifting thing, but i really like it!
I was wondering, i did my lower body workout on wednesday, and the next day my legs were so sore! It's a good kinda hurt, but hurts nonetheless!
Even now on Friday they still hurt to walk on them?! Is this normal, and if nt what can i do to make it not to sore!
P.S. I did my upper body workout on monday and my arms were sore for a bit, but they feel great now!
Is this something that happens when you first start working out and gets better?

if you are working out with weights and trying to build muscle, you are traditionally sore the next day, sorer the day after that, and fine the third day after your workout. this is TOTALLY normal. your body is repairing the damaged muscle fibers rebuilding them stronger. when you stop getting sore, you are no longer building muscle, you are toning the muscle that is already there.

Remember to start of light and easy. In fact for your first couple of weeks you want to work out, but not really make your muscles do to much work. You have to let them get use to all that extra stress being put on them. Build yourselve into it. I have been lifting for a couple of years now, and even I have to ease back into lifting after taking a long break. I would try Tiger Balm or Icy Hot. Also, rest those muscles. These usually help me a lot. Don't be suprised to be very sore for the next week. Sometimes you may even workout a body part on Monday and then have it feel sore on Wednesday and not Tuesday. It is very strange how our bodies work. Yes, you will get use to this. Don't worry, and good luck.

This is normal when you first start working out. You are working your muscles with resistance, they aren't used to it! They will get sore, ibuprofen is good for this too and a hot bath!
Do this: the next time you are working out, don't do as many or lighten the load some. You will be a little sore, but if you can hardly walk you way over did it, but this is very common at first. This is how you learn where your limits are. Just be careful as you can really do yourself some harm if you don't moderate some at first.

Its no longer a bad concern to have sore muscle groups in case you havent had severe actual activity in a at an identical time as. you will locate, have faith me, in case you stretch after each set you do contained in the gymnasium, you will have not have been given any discomfort. once you dont stretch between gadgets, the muscle groups stay tighter. then you certainly pass homestead tight. even nevertheless your nonetheless cellular until eventually you pass to mattress. You muscle groups are tight. Sooooo, you awaken along with your muscle groups no longer bein in a typical comfortable state after sound asleep, ( nonetheless tight). Now you arise your stiff, reason the final concern your muscle groups bear in mind is bein worked out. you have placed rigidity on them for the duration of the work out. Stretching them, or driving a table certain motorbike would be a quiet down. 5 minutes is all you like for a quiet down after your workouts...

Dont worry its perfectly normal - after my first training session i ached like hell lol! As long as you are not aching still after say 3-4 days then everything should be fine. Make sure you stretch out after working out - bicep stretch - tricep and quad stretch depending on your excercicse layout. Make sure you dont lift to much either and get ahead of yourself.
It will certianly get better as time goes on - the only time i ache now is after my bench training session on a saturday - i train 4 times a week now but started on 3.

I hope this helps you! There is nothing you can do to stop yourself from feeling sore - its generally a good sign in the case of weights and excericisng. As you get fitter and stronger - you will ache less!

You did too much for the first day.
When I started running I ran so much, my legs hurt all the time for a week!!!
You need to start slowly, then work it up
I LOVE it when I'm sore though.
