What percentage of the general population is not racist? Cops are about as representative as the rest of us.

I think many cops are racist, they are racist towards drug dealers, child molesters, people who beat their significant others, and many other types of people who commit crimes no matter of their color, creed, or nationality.
Todays police force is an extension of society and the public. Most veteran cops in 2006 started their career in the 80's when racism based on color or nationality was not influential in the media nor in the government. This means that it was not and is not introduced to them on a daily basis by society.
I've worked for many departments and with over 300 different men and women of all sorts of color and nationality and can say that racism based on color or nationality has never been an issue...
