Jesus Christ was conceived to the virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. That does not mean there was sexual contact but that just means she miraculously conceived. So I guess that means the Holy Spirit was the actual father of Jesus Christ. However, The Holy Bible does not explain it in those exact terms. Jesus Christ also called God the Father His Father, but that was more in a spiritual sense. The main thing to remember is that Jesus was not conceived by a man, namely, Joseph, His to-be step-father or any other man but was miraculously conceived in Mary's womb by the Holy Spirit.

Joseph, husband to Mary. There's no such thing as an Immaculate Conception. That concept was made up by Constantine at the Council of Nicea to make Christ more god-like.

Father and Mother God are the ultimate parents of all mankind and every earthly thing in our lives. But to say God is the only parent of one person show favoriteism and that is a human trait.

Joseph, the foster-father of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:16; Luke 3:23) lived at Nazareth in Galilee (Luke 2:4).

He is called a "just man." He was by trade a carpenter (Matt. 13:55).

He is last mentioned in connection with the journey to Jerusalem, when Jesus was twelve years old. It is probable that he died before Jesus entered on his public ministry. This is concluded from the fact that Mary only was present at the marriage feast in Cana of Galilee (John 2). His name does not appear in connection with the scenes of the crucifixion along with that of Mary (q.v.), John 19:25.

Jesus is said to be the son of God. Here is where you are probably confused - Jesus is actually God in HUMAN FLESH.

Jesus, being born of a virgin, became human and lived among us. God was with us in human flesh. (Matthew 1:23; John 1:14)

Why:
God sent His Son Jesus from heaven to earth to save the world from sin. (John 12:47)

As for Joseph:
As a child Jesus was obedient to His mother Mary and His adoptive father Joseph. (Luke 2:51)

God the Father... St. Joseph was the foster father of Jesus Christ on earth, he was there to protect the family, and provide care and protection to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and to Jesus Christ.

Jesus called Him His Abba. That is the most intimate of terms. It is more personal than Daddy. Abba were the first words a child learned to speak. Today a Palestinian baby speaks his first words baba. One thousand years ago a Israeli baby speaking it's first words were baba. The word is the same. It is Abba.

Jesus called God his Abba. My Abba is very fond of me. I belong to my Abba. I am a child of my Abba.
