Would you rather find out that your partner was gay? Or find out that they were lying to you the WHOLE time about how they really felt about you, because they are just mean.

I would say partner being lesbian.
A lifetime of lies signifies their lack of respect and care for you. Being a different orientation isn't something that they can really control. But then again, if they lied to me my whole life about being that, it's just all the same as the first case, cause then they will be unhappy with me, making me unhappy with myself and my life in the end.

Find out they were gay. They would be lying in either case, but if they were gay, then they were lying to themselves, not you.

either way you were being lied to. i know that both would be a blow to ones self esteem. there is no way to recover from something like that except to let time heal the wounds. what probably bothers you most is the fact that you were attracted to this person and more than likely had deep feelings for him. don't kick yourself for being taken in. often those true of heart are the easiest to fool. when we care for someone we have a tendency to only see the best of them and overlook the clues that would lead us to believe they are not perfect for us. when we approach relationships in this manner we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. as hard as it is right now you have to remember that nothing looks as bad tomorrow as it does today. life goes on and we will survive. everything is temporary except death. that which does not kill us only serves to make us stronger. the way i look at it he is the one that has lost out. lost out on the opportunity to share time with a sensitive, caring person that is willing to give a part of herself to someone that is special. the world needs more people like you.
