So do it that way. Go to the courthouse and get married, no fuss necessary.

You should get married in the way that is best for you.

Wedding is for the bride like the honeymoon is for the groom. Different societies view a wedding differently. Western tradition is a big wedding with lots of family and friends.

I work with a woman that lived in a small Russian village. Her husband was a young American originally from Belize. They got married in her parents house. Her Father and Mother did the service (no minister) and all the friends and neighbors waited outside for the Parents to introduce their daughter and her husband (but they introduced him as their new son, which is also a tradition). She was shocked to hear how much my wife and I paid for our wedding. It was enough to put as a down payment on a house. It was for my wife, personally I would have rather used that money as a down payment on a house.

That's your choice. Now me, I want the whole nine yards. The nice dress, the wedding in a church, music, reception, everything. Bridesmaids and a flower girl. That's what I've dreamed of as a child.

Big weddings aren't to be a pain. Its to have as many people as possible celebrating your wedding with you and feeding them/having them take apart of your joy.

If you think of it as a burden it will be a burden.

Me and my girlfriend want to get married one day but we are going to have problems. She wants to get married in church, shes not religious but just wants the big church wedding. Trouble is im not baptised so im getting moaned at to get baptised because otherwise i don't think we can get married in church. I offered to marry her in registrar office or anywhere else but not good enough. Looks like ive got to get myself baptised, when im atheist anyway just so we can marry in church. Damn it.
