How to know if you really love someone? I have a bf. i hate lots of things from his character, but I can't leave him, i feel sorry for him. What can I do? I don't have guts to leave him.

Feeling sorry for someone is not a good base for love, In, it is the poorest excuse I know. When you dislike a persons character and feel sorry for them what excuse have you used to say you love him, get out.
It sounds to me like you have a sexual attraction for him but that will wear off. Do not be a coward if you had the guts to start seeing him then have the guts to leave him.
I bet your friends told you not to get involved with him, if I am right, eat a little crow tell them they are right. You can do that before or after you dump him.
Your relationship will get worse over time so do what you know in your heart you should! Break it off. I am not trying to be criticize you just trying to give the best answer to you problem I can.

I can tell you straight you are not in Love with this person. I am having a problem trying to understand what it is that is keeping you with him,you don't like his character but cant leave him , is he forcing you to stay? Do you think you won't be able to get anyone else?He is not the only bloke on the planet . You say you feel sorry for him.... Why? You don't need guts to leave him you need to clear your head and see him for what he really is.To be in love with someone is to be absolutly committed to making that person happy, to wish that you could spend every second in their company, you will never find any of his habits annoying and every time you meet up you feel the same excitement as you had on the first date. Don't settle for any bloke get out there and find the one that you feel so comfortable with you hate it when he has to leave . If you really love someone you love all their qualities. You adore everything about them. If you feel sorry for this guy, just leave him now, The longer you stay the harder it becomes to escape an unhappy situation. You deserve to be happy and if you are questioning your love for him, then it probably isnt true love that will last a lifetime.

If you don't have the guts to leave him, then you're trapped and will only hurt yourself.
Later on, after you've sufferred enough, you'll have the guts to leave, but you will have wasted some of your life in the process - so the sooner, the better.

Well its simpler than it seems. First spend some time apart and if you realise you miss him then you should get back togeather and if not, then just break it off. Love isnt staying with someone for the sake of it or feeling sorry for them.
Life is too short to be spent wasting it for someone else. Go out and enjoy what time you have!

Feeling sorry for someone only lets them enjoy the relationship. You will never be happy. Just disappear and don't make contact then you wont know their feelings and it will be easier on you. But I think that you should end it if your not happy. Someone always gets hurt when a relationship breaks up but they eventually get over it

I have been with my future husband since 1996. We first met in 1993. I was first attracted to his soft blond hair. Pretty shallow. Then I got to know him and I fell hard for his smile, his sweet innocence. The way he holds me and loves me. He is perfect. I fell for more than just his looks , I feel for the fact that his is so funny , has a great fashion sense, is loyal , romantic, boyish , caring , warm , gental. He and I share the same passions. I would never stay with a guy because I felt bad for him. Dump him.

Feeling sorry for someone and not likeing them is the most definate sign you don't love him! There is no future and this is so destructive. Respect yourself and him and move on to live a happy life!

You don`t love this guy, you only feel sorry for him. Dump him on a soft way ,like telling him you could still be friends but you don`t love him. Then look for someone else dear.
