I'm ready to have a family, but I don't know if I'm ready financially. How much money should my husband and I have/make to be comfortable? (Upstate NY)

If you wait until you think your financially stable enough, it may never happen,As long as your bills are paid and you have food and your needs are met, then everything else will fall into place.

A person who is financially stable means that they have no bills to pay every month, and can buy what ever they want when they want it. Someone thats got money to play wiyh. Some one who likes to spend.

you need to have enough to cover your existing expenses. Then you need to take the following expenses into consideration, the dr visits before and after the child is born. the cost of delivery, disposable diapers, formula, bottles, electricity (because you need to keep the little guy from catching cold). And if you can sock away about $2,000 for emergencies you should be ok.

Living below your means. IE: If you can afford a $200,000 house, you should probably be buying a $180,000 house.
