Before asking a question, get your facts straight. Christians do not beleive that baby are born with defects because of what the parents or grandparents did, that is absurd and frankly stupid to believe.
We believe that all living creatures are placed here for a purpose and the purpose of that person is what God willed, the free will of that person born can lead them to whichever path they chose for themselves, not affecting those around them and much less their offspring.
It is frankly ignorant to generalize that all of a certain race, religion of gender believe in something without first doing real research and not this bogus style of spreading of untruth.

All that you describe is a result of the infection we call sin. God's plan is for everyone to be made whole. He gave us His son for that purpose. Next time you meet someone who has a physical problem, remember that Christ rose from the dead, and the same spirit that raised Him from the dead lives in His believers. Believers in Christ have been given authority over the sickness of this world. We are allowed to command things into existence, like arms and legs, and hearts, and kidneys. We are allowed to command broken bones to mend, to cast out demons, and even raise the dead. You ask why all this sickness, and God says you pray for it, you do it. I gave you the way, now co labor with me, show the world my glory. I am sorry that you haven't seen any christians walking in His power.

Life in any form is never a mistake.
If mankind gives God the chance He can redeem anything, that's just who He is.
The real tragedy is when mankind trumps Gods perfect redemption for the easy way out.
Years ago I lost my Uncle to Multiple Sclorosis. I was then a Believer and prayed constantly for His healing. When He died I was mad at God for awhile, yet through time and healing I remembered that through the struggle My Uncle grew closer to God.
It's like each day he was closer to death he was closer to God....Eventually His Spirit was just too big for His body. That's what matters.
Mankind must remember the essence of life is what they cannot see...

Of course there are Christians in the medical field. Persons with physical and mental defects are born because of nature. Even animals are born with defects. I do agree that sometimes drugs can cause defects.
You asked, "How does God's plan fit into this"?
When God first created the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were in fellowship with Him. Everything was perfect.
When Adam and Eve decided to disobey God, sin, devastation, corruption, misery, and evil, entered the world for all mankind. Even you and me.
God had a "PLAN' already in progress. The PLAN is Jesus.
God sent His only begotten Son into the world to bring man back to Himself. Jesus was sent to become the ultimate sacrifice to cleanse us from the sin that we commit. Jesus had no sin because He is God. Because of His death, we can be saved. Because of His resurrection, He lives now and we can live forever. .
Simple acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior and repentance (to turn away from) of our sins is what God requires for our forgiveness and eternal life with Him.
We can't be good enough to earn this. We can't be religious enough to earn this. Only Jesus is qualified and has earned this for us.
P.S. Someone mentioned recentiently, that animal sacrifice is necessary. Not so. Animal sacrifice is no longer required by God. God required Jesus' sacrifice for us.

Proverbs 26 :2-As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
There's a reason for everything that happens;the reason might not be apparent at first, but their is one. The diciples asked Jesus a quetion about a blind man they asked "who sinned, him or his parents?"
Jesus answered "Nobody sinned, but he would be used for the glory of God. God wanted t deliver the man; so sometimes nobody sinned (although most the time someone probably has).

honey, it feels like you're trying your self to convince believers into Atheism. undesirable theory! have self belief is a few thing own, and as maximum international places of our international promote loose selection and education of religion, go away it as a lot as each man or woman what they have self belief. btw, this also is going to the take care of of militant, missionary Christians, Muslims, Hindus etc (although both very last ones do not do missioning, after I undergo in recommendations proper). have self belief does no longer could spotlight God, Allah, inspite of. in case you outline have self belief as faith, than Atheism will be called a faith, ever theory about that? you would no longer imagine so, yet different Atheists would. you're proper, Sammi, there are extremely some pagan symbols in churches - Christianity followed many symbols. as did / does the different faith... yet you're incorrect about Jesus' birthday, i imagine - wasn't it in March? a minimum of, it became no longer December twenty fourth.

part of me wants to say - why does everyone assume natural processes have nothing to do with God? (I believe God created the laws of nature).
The other part of me wants to say - what makes you think these children are mistakes, or have no good purpose in our society? Almost everyone in this world has one health problem or another, and most people contribute very positively to to the world.

John 9:1-3
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

How a culture cares for its most vulnerable members will be the evidence of either its embrace or its rejection of God's love.

You can choose to look at it from the natural or from the spiritual. Personally, I choose to look at things from a spiritual perspective, which is why I can handle the discussions on this forum. I know that "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12) I know you NEED an explanation of everything, so you can go ahead and accept your natural answers.
