ii knOw dat when u bake a cake u can replace apple sauce.. but what dOes da apple sause replace? eggs? oil? ii 4gOt..

Use applesauce for half of the butter, shortening or oil. You may need to reduce the baking time by 25%. For instance, if you bake something for 1 hour, you'll only need to bake it for 45 minutes if you replaced some of the oil or butter with applesauce.

It replaces the OIL....

I, however leave out the oil and applesauce all together and bake the cake anyway.... I get compliments on how much moister my cakes are than other peoples.

It replaces the oil. But don't replace it entirely or will have a cake that dries out quickly.

the oil or butter or lard. I bake diabetic brownies using unsweetened applesauce and it gives them a great flavour and keeps them really moist.. try not to overbake or it can dry out
