It depends on where you live...however, you should not have lost your job because you were caring for your father. There is a federal law, called the Family and Medical Leave Act in where you are entitled to long term, unpaid leave due to family emergencies - Kroger should know better. Maybe you should see an attorney, if you have a good case, an attorney will probably take it on contingency (you won't have to pay until it settles).

I thought you said your dad died of a heart attack... Then you say you went to stay with your parents and your dad has cancer... But anyway you should contact a homeless shelter and try to find a job... You should also go to Social Services and apply for emergency assistance sometimes they can place you and your kids in government housing, give you food stamps, and a welfare check... I hope everything works out for you.

A womans shelter or walk into a church and ask if they can help. Do you have any other family? I cant imagine that a family member would not take you in temporarily. You will be in my prayers

Go to your local church you will be welcomed and assisted. Or find out if there is any crisis unit in your area they will lead you in the right direction.
