I suggest that you go to the Immigration Service in your location and explain the situation to them. Its good that you are concerned about this now- as opposed to waiting. Green Cards can take FOREVER to arrive- and you may be able to get an extension of your "parole" (thats what they call this period before you have the actual documentation.)
I dont think you'll have to resubmit any forms- but you do need to go to immigration and make sure they recieved your paperwork- and see what you need to do to stay in the country legally.

those representatives doesn't help a bit... they make matters worse and get you confused... i had to called several times to get to a kind of "decent answer" to my question. What i suggest to you is to call again and again and talk to other representatives you may found one that would be able to help you further more. Find out in which Service Center did you send your application because if you saying that you received a letter telling you that your papers were received you should have recipe# or something because if we give it a thought.. how come your green card might be loss if you gave them the same address where they send your receipt letter umm.. in the other hand dint get so frustrate give them a little more time 1 month is not enough wait few more weeks somethings it takes more than 30 days.. RelaX.. February is not tomorrow.. =)

As for my green card I was informed that it can take up to 6 months to a year to get it. They have sent me a extension. You should go to the office that issued your approval in person, to help straighten this out. If you have applied and were approved then your status should be on the USCIS.gov website. You should have a case number and check your status there.
Good Luck

On the USCIS website it says it can take 5 months to receive your new green card but you should receive some kind of temporary proof of status.

Just call the INS and they SHOULD be able to give you an answer or just go to an immigration lawyer and he/she should be able to help you out!!:), and done listen to these muthafUcker$ posting all these dumb answers, I guess they dont know that if you have your green card you are legal already, they say they are not racist but this is a great example to prove them wrong.... racist pigs (NOTE: I am refering to the ones that responded in a mean, racist manner)
