Are you trying to make the pot itself? If so, you'll need some sort of way to keep the pot of fondue warm during serving.

To begin with, you can always melt your chocolate, cheese, et cetera in a double boiler on the stove. If you don't have one of those, either, you can place a larger pot on the stove with water to boil. Once boiling, you can place a smaller pot on top of the larger one -- make sure it's a good fit -- and then place your ingredients to melt in the smaller, top pot. (Many cookware sets come with pots that can be fitted to create a double boiler. Look at your cookware and see if that's the case.)

Now, here's where it gets tricky: trying to keep the fondue warm enough to stay melted during serving at your table. A warming plate might work -- or a can of "canned heat" underneath a high trivet plate. Or -- you can have fun and keep it on the stove, especially if your kitchen is the common gathering place for guests.

Have fun! (And think about investing in a commercial fondue pot. They're inexpensive and fun to use!)

A bottle of good tasting dry or semy dry white wine.
Get three or more French cheeses.Or swiss ones.Or old Amsterdam from Holland in combination with a softer tasting cheese.Yummie!!!!!!!!!
Heat the pot ,put in the preheated(not boiled!!)whitewine and cut the cheese in little chunks The heat will mellt the cheese.Add more cheese if you a thicker fondue.
Just ask the seller of cheeses if he has receipecards.
