How many will be relieved to see these people just die? And isn't this group courting a very grave 'backlash' with their escalating atrocities they commit against decency?

Some people who are as violent as they are will finally be pushed to the limit. I am not saying I approve of any of this but I see natural consequences taking shape.

I would hate it if everyone was glad I had finally died.

Any thoughts?

Fred Phelps, doing God's work only backwards.
OK, hang with me here.
By preaching hate and intolerance, this man has worked wonders by showing people how NOT to live your life. In his hometown of Topeka Ks. he has been a menis for decades now. But by having to put up with him and his family, it has united the community with all it's diverse cultures. He has actually done more to promote the human rights of the gay and lesbian population in that town than any peaceful approach could have hoped to achieve!
The town has actually embraced their G&L people & rejected the Westboro Baptist Church!

Like I said, doing it BACKWARDS!
Gotta love the Genius! LOL!!!
Go Fred! ; )

And YES, I think at least 1/2 of Topeka will show up to dance at his funeral! I'll be there!

I'm sure it will happen. And though I normally don't delight in the harm of others, this will be one I will be glad to see go. And I hope they are done the same way they have done others. Treated with no respect and as if they had no right to live. It doesn't have to be violent either... it merely has to be in the same manner they have done it to others. When one goes to the hospital, picket the hospital (as they did that poor homosexual kid when he was dying in the hospital). When one dies, picket the funeral. Anytime they go on "parade" others should parade wearing T-Shirts and carrying signs to show just how much Hate they really do spread.

You can not go around hating people and advertise it and not expect someone to finally get fed up with it and deal it right back. THis is one group in America that should be investigated as a Violent Cult... his family should also be investigated... 10 of his children are lawyers and that is how they fund their little groups travelling expenses. He had 13 children, but 3 left the fold, 2 of which changed their names and refuse to be interviewed. The other flat out says her family is crazy. Anytime someone tries to stop them, they sue, stating it is their Right to Freedom of Speech. This is not Speech... this is pure hatred and should be considered terroristic.

Like so many, they believe they are doing "god's work". Just one more reason to be wary of religion.

Funny how the Phelp's clan protested at the funerals of gays for a decade and the christian community as a whole didn't give a damn.

Then the Phelps' started protesting at the funerals of (assumedly) straight soldiers' funerals, and it was an outrage.

Thanks a lot christians.

I hope that a group of activists emerges that can keep them under control and eventually keep them under lock and key. I personally, am not talented enough to form such a group, but I'd sign up in a heartbeat if someone else were willing to do so.

I wouldn't say I'm glad that anyone is dead, but I would either secretly be glad Fred himself died, or glad they're not doing what they do anymore. What they do is horrid, and what I really want to see is one of their funeral protests being broken up by two guys with flamethrowers.

regrettably no, at the same time as I agree that they are posing as Christians, i think of the utter stupidity of their ideals and movements potential that they are actual...honestly delusional, in actual fact deceived. i think of it might require some degree of intelligence to drag off considered one of those hoax...and that i basically would be unable to think of why an smart atheist might waste his or her time attempting to make Christians seem undesirable while there are already maximum of that are keen to furnish Christianity a foul call without interference with the aid of atheists. does no longer even a rather smart atheist be extra in all threat to basic acquire and record on the examples they have already got than to attempt to create yet another one to apply?

Hypothetically, say we could take religious factors out of the Fred Phelps cult, these people are just plain nasty, ugly, hurtful people!

My only concern about them dieing would be to see them truly repent before hand. For now I would like to see them transform into real Christians and knock off their BS.

These people need to go. We should drop a bomb on that compound when everyone is congregated for church on a Sunday.

I'm seriously surprised that they haven't been gang beaten yet.

Especially at that soldier's funeral
