In addition to what you are doing, you need to watch your sodium intake. Eating foods that are high in sodium can cause you to retain fluid. A high protein, low carb diet can help you lose water weight, but it's not recommended to stay on that diet for more than a couple of weeks. Once you return to eating "normally" the water weight returns. So everything has to be in balance.
Drink at least 64 oz of water a day. If you're not drinking enough water, your body surely won't want to give up that water weight as it will feel the need to hold on to it. It usually takes a month to see the results you want maybe even 6 weeks. Good luck and hang in there, you're doing great!

No one can answer this question accurately. You lose weight based on your calorie consumption and how much you use during the day. You burn about 10 calories a poind so if you weight 130 you can eat 1300 and maintain weight without exercise. Exercise burns calories but lifting hardly burns any and you have to run a mile to burn 100 calories. Therefore, you have to know exactly how many calories you are eating and burning to know when you will lose 5 pounds. Also muslce ways more than fat so you may gain weight lifting but it will be lean weight and you could look thinner because muscle takes up less space than fat. However you decondition 3 times as fast as you condition so if you run a mile everyday for 6 days and take two days off it is like you never even did it.

well it sounds like you're off to a good start. really, it sounds like you've got a handle on everythiing. I'd say a couple more weeks. though don't expect to lose a lot of weight right away, because as your body tones, your muscles will become denser faster than any fat will break down, so even though you're working out, initially you'll gain some weight, but then your muscles will continue burning energy and thus breakdown the fat cells and you'll start losing some weight. It is Important to drink lots and LOTS of water, the water will help flush out any byproducts of the fat burning (lactic acid etc) and keep your body hydrated so it doesn't have to store water. I know it sounds funny, when you're trying to drop water weight, but it works. So keep it up, and give it a few more weeks and I'm sure 5 lbs will be easy.
good luck.

I wouldn't worry about losing five pounds with that routine. Muscles weighs nearly three times as much as fat does. You are going to burn your extra fat, yes. BUT, you are also going to greatly increase your lean muscles mass. So... It's possible you may actually notice your weight slightly increasing. I wouldn't worry about it though. If you gain weight on that routine it is undoubtedly just muscle. Keep a watch on your inches, not your pounds. That way you will see positive results instead of getting frustrated if the muscle does cause you to gain a pound or two. Keep trying on your jeans and note HOW they fit you to monitor your changes in size. Good luck!! ♥

You can drop the five pounds in a few days if you are retaining water. Be sure to increase your fluid intake so your body can dilute the salts that help your body retain fluid. Drinking water is good, but remember your brain needs salt to function (remember the woman who ran a marathon and didn't get sufficient salt because she drank only water - she died after the race). You need to keep a good balance of electrolytes (minerals, salt) when physically active to ensure good brain, heart and organ function.

It takes about 4 to 8 weeks to see any results on yourself. Take pics once a week in your workout clothes, like your bike shorts and sports bra, that way you can see the changes over time, do it no more than once a week.

In the mood for a hot meal? Make a big pot of veggie bean soup, divide into two-cup containers, and store in the freezer. Before bed, place a container from the fridge, then grab it before heading out the door each morning.

Eat in front of a person rather than a screen. It cuts down on mindless eating and forces you to more accountable for each bite.
