The way of life in Ireland is so different to England. No one seems to rush.
I think you if you are not sure about moving over there permanently maybe you should talk to your partner and agree to give it 6 months and if you are happy and settled stay, and if not come back. That way you are giving it time for things to work without it feeling that you've burned your bridges over here. If you are worried about your kids, I wouldn't they are still young and will soon become use to your new way of life.

I seriously think you should aske the kids on what they think of the idea, saying how nice Ireland is, and that they can still keep in touch with there friends, as Internet, write, phone etc, but at the end of the day it is all down to personal preference, you should always discuss these important moves with your family, as if you don't it can upset others!

Have you family or friends out there ? If you were brought up in Ireland, maybe it would be nice to go home.

If you were not, then remember that it is a foreign country so there will still be a lot of adjustments to make. But on the whole, if I were you I would go ahead. I think Ireland is on the up & I don't think that's true of the UK.
