Very general! In the mid 1800's, Darwin's “hypothesis” of purely biological creation (random chance and natural selection) led to godless political philosophies that have been the most oppressive that have ever existed. The Nazi’s were given a scientific justification for ethnic cleansing (Jews, others), and many nations use this justification today. The godless Marxists eliminate (kill) capitalists and (kill) believers and (kill) anyone else who gets in their way to create a dreary and oppressive society. Would you like to live in Cuba or North Korea, or during Stalin's programs and Mao's revolution. 10's of millions of people suffered and died.

Philosophically, since God is a creator, he created each of us for a reason. Thus, each of us are unique, and have a god given purpose for life. This aligns with the sanctity of human life. Thus, government should protect each of our individual rights, and allow freedom of religion. Isn't faith why America works, or used to work so well?

If you are a random quirk of nature, then, in the Grand Scheme of Nature, your life is meaningless and has no value. To you and the group around you it has value, love, friendship, or survival. But, still, it matters not if you live of die. Thus, when you take this conclusion to its philosophical conclusion, you can then think of people like ants (read socialism): worker ants, soldier ants, drones and queens. People in power shape society without regard to individuals. Why do you think there is such brutality today?

Hitler was not a Christian. He was brought up in religion, like many people were, but, he became an atheist, like many people do today. Most of the atheists on Y!A, were once Christians and I think would resent you saying that they still are Christians.

Godless societies have no moral base, they make it as they go.

Even more creationist nonsense. Most urban societies are in fact godless and usually have been throughout history. Being obliged by law to go to church does not make you a Christian.

In the late 19th and early 20th century various racist organisations and people distorted the theory of evolution (which is not the same as evolution) to justify beliefs they already held. The belief systems of some churches were used for the same purpose. Some of these churches held creationist views. There is a very strong link between creationism and racism.

Evolutionist scientists note that the genetic differences between the Scots and the Japanese or anyone else are vanishingly small.

The belief systems of the two of the four main Nazi leaders were occult rather than godless. What is now called "new age". Astrology and all that nonsense. Some called for a return to the worship of Wotan/Odin, Thor and that lot.

Mao and Stalin were interested in power, not atheism and hardly qualify as Marxists, no matter what their supporters might have said about them.

Get this. A very large proportion of humanity are not the least interested in God-bothering.

Hitler was Not an Atheist (I'm not sure how you came up with this)... he was a Catholic (his name is still in their roster)... now, you may disagree with his approach and even hate the man for the things that happened, but to say he was an Atheist shows you have not read about the man at all... Where do you think all the Aryan ideas have come down from??? Why do you think they are called Neo-Nazi's and own their own churches?

Stalin himself was an Atheist, from my understanding and he promoted Communism BUT that doesn't make the Society itself Godless... that's like saying because Bush is a Christian our Society and everyone in it is Christian. It simply does not work that way. Mao, though "godless" in the basic sense of the word, he still worshipped.... his ancestors... so he still believed in something beyond this life, so that does not make him an Atheist.

Taking all of this into consideration and looking at our Society today, what makes you think a godless nation would be any worse?????? We have the highest murder rate (you are more likely to get killed in Washington DC than in Iraq During this war)... we also have one of the highest rates of rape in the world.

You speak of the godless killing in the past, yet I see nothing here pointing out how the CHURCH did it's own killing... killing those they deemed Heretics. Did you forget about this? Or do you just ignore it hoping the rest of us do not know about it?

Good grief. Darwin is to blame for the rise of Nazism. Why not just pin the aids epidemic and third world poverty on the man as well? Darwin provided facts-the moral implications of those facts and how people might view them do not reflect on him. "Philosophically since God is a creator" is a non-statement. If God is philosophically anything where are the philosophical proofs to support the argument-without them all subsequent reasoning becomes null and void-good day sir.

get your stories straight, the nazi's were not killing the christians only jews, so there was nothing about following darwin, just because there were insane people that did not believe in a story book does not mean that the story book is correct. Look at the crusades and all the people that the christians killed every war in history started because of religious freaks. Get rid of religion and the problem is solved.

No way dude!! you are completely wrong...First off Hitler was a Christian..sorry to break it to you but he was...and yes they did use some science to justify the killing of jews but Nazi germany was by no means Godless...Secondly Countries around the world today such as Sweden and Norway have low religious values and are the least violent..while Christian nations such as America and Britain have Blood all over thier hands...and they always have...to imply that America ever was a good Christian nation is just retarded...look at slavery...look at the killing of Native americans...look at the civil war...the revolutionary war...WWII...Don't be dumb

First of all, read a bit more history on Germany under Nazi control. They did not consider themselves to be a Godless society. The church was for the most part under their control but still very active. Nazi Germany was certainly not a Nazi society.

If you will reference a broader perspective of world history (time line wise) you will see these problems have befallen many religious societies as well.

I haven't heard of a entire "godless" society yet I dare say that every country in the world has some type of religion and a God even if the "God" is not the traditional Christian god. People are capable of evil and good no matter there "God"

Actually, German was mostly christian according to some polls taken during world war two. By the way, are you forgeting about christians? They killed tons of people through the centuries "for their religion". Also, faith isn't why America worked so well or used to. It was because a lack of coruption, people acutally caring about others, and fair laws (unless you were a discriminated race)

Your comparison of godlessness and godliness is a creationist straw man.
The Nazi's killed the Jews because of their RELIGION additionally the Nazi's where obsessed by the occult and ancient religion.
Stalin also Oppressed Jews.
However even if you had a point, the facts are that Hundreds of millions have died and are currently dying for religious reasons.
Christianity is the greatest killer of them all. That religion was one of the key reasons humans in Europe where in a "dark age" for a thousand years. Why did we have the crusades? Why does religion teach hate and intolerance?

China is quickly overtaking the US on many fronts. They are a godless society.

Note, however, that there is a difference between a godless society and fascist society. Your attempt to blend the two has not gone unnoticed.

And that is what is called propoganda. Please try to be a little more honest in the future. Oh, and on that note... The Nazis were a Christian organization, and Hitler based many of his views on Judaism on mythology.
