and ever since his ex has been harrasing me to find out what his new girlfriend is like,so I told her and on the other hand I told her (his ex) that he was silly to leave her,to cut a long story short we slept together and now wants us to be an item.What can I do?Do we tell my friend or not?I don't want to ruin our friendship over it.

Wow, how in the hell did you get from telling his ex what his new GF is like, to sleeping with her? that is one hell of a leap.
Look bro, if he left her there is probably a reason, if you want a relationship with this woman and she is no longer seeing your friend I don't see a problem with it.
Talk to your buddy about the possibilty of dating her, dont' mention the sex thing, and see what he says. but I will stress I wouldn't let what he thinks make the decision for me.
If he is thinking clearly he will say he doesn't care if you date her or not because he LEFT her... (if it were me? I would say dude... dont' do it because she is crazy etc, but if you still decided to then.. it's your funeral and i'd wish you luck).

It seems from your question you are like you are the director of a play with the role of "serious boyfriend" to fill and you've cast this guy and now you don't understand why he's not playing the part right. You need to tone it down, BIG TIME. Very vew people in life will act the way you expect them to once you start dating them. That's the fun and the frustration of the whole thing!

Guess you'll be telling you're friend that his ex girls sleeps around with guys. From a girls perspective here, I would probably forgive my best friend just because I love her so much, but if you guys have a shallow relationship, then I'd call it quits. Remind me never to ask you to ask my friends questions for me! :)

If you don't tell your friend she's gonna. That was wrong. True she's an ex but do you think it would work? You could never hang out as couples. Oh and you'd always know your best friend saw your girl naked.

Since your friend is no more interested in her, I don't think it should boarder him who his ex sleeps with. Although your friend might think you have been wanting to have her ever since their were together. Both of you can keep it secret so that it doesn't spoil your relationship your friend or better still call it quit with her.

You may have already. There is an unwritten guy rule, honor amongst thieves: don't date your friend's ex(s). The best possible outcome is you find the love of your life but almost certainly at the expense of your friendships.

Get out of the situation! You weren't obligated to be in the middle of it anyway, even as her best friend. You need to tell her ex that because of the circumstances, you are not willing to date him. End story.
But, unfortunately, you need to tell your best friend you had sex with her ex...yikes.

doesnt sound like a good spot to be in you will have to choose btween your friend you have all ready betrayed by sleeping with him and lying to her about it but if you tell her your friendship might be over but if you dump him he might tell on you anyway
