I work in a pharmacy. We can give them to family members with special restrictions. #1 if you are incapacitates and we have a doctors letter stating so either e-mailed or faxed to us from the doctor himself. #2 if a family member has sealed and documented power of attorney.

So long as it is not a narcotic they can. If you did not authorize the family member to pick it up it would be up to you to handle it not the pharmacy. This is how teenage kids get their hands on so much Zanex and such....by refilling their parents prescriptions.

I don't think you are supposed to be able to, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. I'm sure hippaa covers that somewhere

I've never had problems picking up anyone's prescription, even non-family members. If you think it could be a problem though you can always call the pharmecy and let them know who will be picking it up.

I am sure that legally you can't but I have never had a problem getting my husbands scripts, even before we were married.

Yes they can. It has been debated that they shouldn't be allowed, however it would mean some disable people would not have access to their scripts.
