If a guy mentions dating you in a conversation, does that mean the thought crossed his mind?
For example:
Girl: "Ugh, my girl-friend is on the phone with her boyfriend again..I mean they talk on the phone all the time!"
Guy: "Aw, it's new. It would be like, if you & I were to start dating right now, we'd be on the phone a lot too...."
Any thoughts?

As a general rule of thumb, anybody who says something in their waking state, it means the thing they said actually has already crossed their mind. In the case of the subject of dating, it also means that a few other things crossed their mind too.
