If the universe was billions of years old, why do we still have comets. Now think before you answer. Comets are made up of mostly ice, they dont last forever. And please do not tell me its comming in from the Ort cloud, if you tell me that then go back to school, because you dont know why and you are waisting my time

Comets can form at any time, I have a question for you, If the earth isn't billions of years old and its only 6000 years old then how come the ancient sumerians were inventing things like paste back then..and there is archeological evidence to suggest that they were around before the creation of the world?...well the creation according to christians.

Ok, so I haven't had any space science courses yet, but here's a Chemistry idea for ya.
Gases expand and compress. Compressed gases turn to liquid. Liquid Nitrogen is at a temp. of absolute zero, or 0* K. 0* Kelvin is equal to -273* Celsius. Anything passing through liquid Nitrogen is frozen to the point that none of the little electrons surrounding it's atoms are moving. That is why they call it 'Absolute Zero'. Nitrogen is a gas that is present in our air, so I'm sure that there must be a vast amount of it in the Universe. As far as the compression part, well if you stand too close to a fast moving train, the air current will knock you off your feet. Imagine a PLANET going by!
But anyhow, it is obvious by your question, that you really didn't want an answer. Problem is there are some highly intelligent and educated people on this sight, and by the way, I don't consider myself an Evolutionist. Only a college student with high level science and mathematics emphasis.

I'm wasting YOUR time? I should go back to school and you can't even spell correctly (there is no "i" in "wasting," only one "m" in "coming," and you missed an apostophe in "don't")? Not only that, this "question" has nothing at all to do with evolution or religion and spirituality.

Many comets do, in fact, originate from the Oort cloud. Others may begin life as Kuiper belt objects kicked into a solar orbit by a passing planet or other object with a sizeable gravitational field. The current consensus on the origin of comets holds that they condensed from the solar nebula at the same time as the formation of the Sun and planets, and their material may be little altered from the era of condensation to the present time.

Comets originate from many places besides the Ort cloud. The Kyper belt is filled with icy objects as the discovery of several new large planetoids demonstrates.
However your question was about evolution, and since evolution is the study of living things on this planet I fail to see the relevance of you question. Perhaps it should have been addressed to a cosmologist.
Perhaps you should go back to school.

Rain falls every day, somewhere in the world. It's possible because rain clouds are formed every day. Why do you think that it's impossible for comets to be formed, every day? It's a big universe. And God is all mighty. By the way, do you really think that you can comprehend every God's intention, His every creation? Only because we don't know it or understand it, it doesn't mean it's not created by the God's hand. And if you can't see that, you're blinded (not by faith...by ego). Bible is Guide, Guide to the God. It's not the book which describes God totally. Don't tell me that you read the Bible, and now you think you know God's intention. You won't completely understand God by reading book, for that you need to live your life, to act mercifully, to show and share love. Bible is not a book of all the things God did. Go and share your love, instead of trying to "get inside God's brain"

Because it's freaking cold in outer space and they do not spend much time very close to the Sun. Look at the trajectory of a comet. It swings quickly around the sun in about an earth-distance orbit, then zips away past Pluto's orbit.

It stays frozen because it's really cold in space. I don't know what you were trying to ask here.

Most do originate in the outer solar system where the temperatures are far below zero. I can take millions, even billions of years for one fragment to hit another, then another, then another, on and on. Eventually a comet winds up on a trajectory that brings it to the inner solar system where it starts to melt. This isn't a difficult concept.

Stars are still exploding everywhere as are planets so new asteroids and comets can be created. Also, comets can be cyclical in nature. They go around the same route over, and over again. Ever hear of Haley's Comet?

This is not a religion and spirituality question. In fact is isn't a question at all. The phrase "Evolutionist please answer" is a request. Adding a question mark to a request does not make it a question. None of the other sentences has a question mark and therefore none of those statements is a question. Please try again so that the kind answerers here can know where you are "comming" from. Sorry you "waisted" your 5 points.

omg, u still believe the earth is flat too?

scientist have alot of proof the universe is billions of years old. light travelling from distinct stars millions of years away kinda indicates it.

dinosaurs are millions yrs old.

comets break off from other planets though supernova etc and there is an asteriod belt too that is between mars and jupiter i think. simple. it takes longer than 4 days to create the earth u know!
