I have done the no-carb diet in the past, for longer periods of time and when i stopped i found myself gaining all the weight back plus more. But once i stopped i did consume lots of carbs, i have lost all that weight again and im wondering if i do the No-carb diet again for only 2weeks this time, will i gain the weight back plus more if i eat healthier and exercise? I want to lose weight but not if its going to come back!

Yes.

Diet vs changing life style.

That is very likely. A diet is not intended to be something that you do on and off, or the weight will be on and off. There are ways to lessen the impact, though.
If you lose weight pretty quickly on a low-carb diet you are most likely glucose or insulin sensitive (meaning you have an increased risk of developing diabetes later in life). That being said, fluctuating weight is probably the last thing you want to do to yourself, as it will only increase the stakes...
Which low-carb diet are you going by? Atkins, South Beach, GI? I would recommend South Beach. It is MUCH healthier than Atkins. It focuses on the difference between good fats and bad fats, good carbs and bad carbs. Then, as you adopt healthier eating habits, you can ease your way back to a decent level of carbohydrates without undoing your hard work. You'd want to stay on the diet for a while, though, and work your way up. If this is not a question for you, at least try to improve the quality of carbs post-diet~~ switch to brown and wild rices only, sweet potatoes instead of white, eat broccoli instead of corn, etc.
Basically, in a low carb diet, you deny the body those carbs as energy and after about three days (give or take) your body enters ketosis- a stage where it burns your fat stores for energy. It will STOP though, the second you return to giving it the carbs for energy again, it will eave the fat stores alone again. These are the same fat stores that your extra carbs get turned into sugars and deposited into... So, essentially, a two week low carb diet will give you a MAX of eleven fat burn days, then you will go back to your normal diet and the extra carbs will return what you just burned... It would really be a waste.
If you are looking for something to do for just a few weeks to lose weight quick, you may want to try a 5-10 day fast. Drinking a few glasses of homemade fruit and veggie juices and eat nothing for a few days- then slowly add fruits and veggies in. You will remove a lot of your body's toxins and feel more energized after. A lot of people even find that a longer fast (over 28 days) helps them break any relationships they had with foods and are then better equipped to do well on a restrictive diet.
Good luck!! ♥

If you eat healthy and exercise, the weight will not come back.

I am working on a website where I share things I learned about weight loss. I did loose my excess weight without putting it back on. It sure is a lot easier to put it on than take it off.

Maybe you will get some good ideas there. Go to the fat page and brain food pages. It is a work in progress and I am very interested in input from readers so that I can help them and improve the site. For example, someone asked me to post some exercises so I will soon ceate an exercise page.

The reason I am directing you there is I am not sure what your definition of "eating healthy" is, plus some carbs are good for you.

The bottom line is that we should all "eat healthy" and exercise.

Keep me posted. I am wondering how you make out.

I am a registered dietitian and against the no carb or low carb diet. 60% of your calories need to come from carbs or you become acidic and poisen your blood basically. You can lose weight but noone can do it in two weeks unless it is just water they lose not weight. Eat lower calories. Get the lowest calorie everything (bread 50 a slice, yogurn 80-100 a cup) If you eat these foods you will loose weight if you do it in portion control 1200-1500 calories a day and weight it will come off. You can buy 50 calorie bread for the rest of your life, but you cannot eliminate carbs for the rest of your life so the diet i describe is the most realistic.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

You've already tried the no-carb diet and every time you gain back the weight + more.

So do you think it would be different this time?

You can't stop and go on diets when you want to or need to....
it's a LIFE LONG habit you have to do consistently.......and healthy diet of everything in moderation with excercise. And it all depends on your body type....maybe you need high protein and low carbs.....not NO carbs....

It's a healthy LIFESTYLE......

no quick fixes for these kinds of things....if there was EVERYBODY would be on it.....
