I'm about to get sick,i have a daughter who is a freshman in college and i know that things can get expensive. She has gotten the financial aids that she qualifies for,but she is living on campus and needs more money for other things.I don't make a lot of money or does her mother.I can't afford to pay back any loans at this time and i don't want to get into that type of debt right now.Can i as a parent apply for monies that i don't have to pay back for my daughters education?I have a company calling me saying that they can secure a grant for my daughter for a fee of $449.I don't want my daughter to have to leave college,so can someone give me some direct sources to appy to that can help us?

Hmm...I'm gonna guess that's a big ol' scam. fastweb.com has a listing, constantly updated, of available scholarships. Have her register with that and sart applying for these scholarships. Is she doing a workstudy program or has she checked that out? If not that, is she working any kind of part time job right now?

Basically by saying 449 to secure a grant is saying buy our software that costs 449 and it will show u or guide u into writing a grant. I know that u can search for scholarships on line to apply for that will help out towards schools. As far as grants, I recently graduated college and I have a loan payback starting next month so I was intetrested in buying the grant software to help get a grant to pay off my loan. Here is the thing, government grants are out there, especially for minorities and women. The grant program should give u access to the grants available as well as show u throught the process of writing the grant. U have to apply for like 5 grants, keep the copies and wait like 90 days and if u do not get offer the grant, u send the software back and u get a refund. It will be time consuming to fill out these grants epecially if they are large amounts. So u are not paying for a grant, u are paying to get info so u can fill out all the paperwork, but the good thing is u can apply for all kinds of grants and if awarded u receive this money that u never have to payback.

No, you do not have to pay money for a grant, and it is probably a scam progra,. There are outside scholarships out there that can be located from free membership search engines. However, it takes time to hear back on the results of the application. An idea might be for her to check into work study programs offered on campus in the mean time. There are employers who will also work around a student's college schedule too. The hours do not have to be much.

No you needn't have to! However you could have a bake sale fundraiser. Most people like to help out especially if they are buying something tasty! don't just buy something from the local store and resell it! Bake a Cake or cookies and put your name with it too.. That way they will know it's safe to eat. No one would put there name with a cake or cookies if
they weren't safe to eat! If you're not a good cook I'm sure you can find someone that love to help. Everyone loves a funder raiser. You might even say any surplus funds go to SPCA or Humane Society, or Cancer! Remember be truthful about your Fund Raiser.. if you're not so they'll never trust you again!

You should NEVER have to pay anyone to get a grant. Grants are provided free to any qualified students.

You or your daughter can also get a deferred loan, where it does not have to be paid until she is finished w/ school or be employed.

goto www.fifsa.gov

Have your daughter go to the financial aid dept of the school to get more info.

Never,EVER pay .Anything that makes you pay for a scholarship or grant. You can start by taking that $450 you were gonna waste and put it in a CD or savings account for her and let it gain interest.I wish I could be more help, but the first step is tonot be suckered into wasting what little you have.

a real grant doesn't have to be paid for to be secured. take out a life insurance policy if you're that worried about your daughter being okay if something should happen to you. There are real grants out there that you can apply for to help your daughter.

Do not pay it. This is a SCAM. A scholarship company would never ask for you to pay a fee for them to hold a scholarship for you.

Hi.
This sounds like a scam to me.
If there are grants available then you do not have to pay for them.
