All you can set is the cam timing, special tools to align up the cams and crank are needed for this. Also a repair manual will be required, Talk to the local dealer sometimes they will loan tools out, very rare but worth the try, and they should copy the pages out of a book to help. Depends on the employees.

If it's a coil-on -plug distributorless ignition (like the new GM's) you will need Ford's diagnostic software to set the timing, I would check with a Ford dealer to be sure.
