if you belong to a religion, and your religion expects you to follow certain rules or morals, and belifes; why do most religious people break those rules or morals, and belifes??? and why they keep going to church or where ever your religon needs you to go, to ask for forgiveness, and keep doing the same things again. why??
p.s shouldn't it be easy to just do your own thing, do what you want.... fornicate or do whatever it is thats against most religions. than to feel guilty everytime you do something against your belief. and having to go and ask for forgiveness???
im not trying to offend anyone i just want to know why people do what they do. thanks

My love for God trumps any lust or love for worldy things including sex.

Some people are too blinded by this world to understand what comes next.

the human race is followers. they need guidance all the time. the human race can't make a decision without someone suggesting what they should think. Not trying to be rude but that's just a fact. People are influenced by everything. You can change anyones mind if yours is stronger and you present it just a certain way. I believe in god and some people don't. Christians are not in contact with thereselves all god asks of us is to love him and serve him and win other souls to him. People want to live for god and the devil they want there cake and eat it to it don't work that way. So they go out saturday and sow there wild oats and go to church on sunday and pray for forgiveness

No one is without sin. When u ask to be forgiven, ur supposed to truly be sorry. If u keep doing the same things over and over, u aren't really sorry. To feel guilty is to know that ur doing something wrong, and that isn't only true with religion. Even people who don't believe in any higher power feel guilty if they do something they know is wrong unless they have absolutely no moral compass.

On the assumption you are serious.......
First:
People are trying to stay on the 'straight and narrow'.
If the go wayward, its not out of choice, but weakness.
They, themselves are ashamed ....hence the asking of forgiveness.
Asking it from God, not a priest.
P.S.
Don't throw around fornication as if it were nothing but a simple past-time.
Fornication is often the cause of divided households, separation and divorce, one-parent families and STD ...sometimes suicide.
Its good to have a rule that discourages the practice.

That should tell you something about the nature of religion. During the early development of human society, religion was a necessary evil. Now it's just one more reason for people to hate and kill each other.

No body is perfect. Humans will always be tempted to sin, no matter the religion. Following the rules is hard, sinning is easy. We ask for forgiveness and only the true believers honestly try to not do it again.

"We're just human; God is perfect" Blah blah blah.

Too many Christians CRAVE to know their horoscope, even though it's deemed PAGAN by some Christian churches.

I've had the wildest SEX in my life with a Jehovah Witness, me being an Atheist.

So? People who are EMPTY and HOLLOW need to fill their miserable lives with something, anything, however questionable.

In Mexico we have a saying: "The suffering of many soothes the fool".

They hope God's memory is selective......OR....the followers are neurotic; following unnatural rules of old politics. Simple as that. Without the threat of hell, how many Christians would be Christians? I say it is fear that is breeding the sickness that is Christianity and other static religions.

see what you don't realize is that religon is man made it set's rules and expectations and limits that are immpossible to reach!! religon is set up for failure because of one reason Religon comes from man .relationship comes from God and God who is the creator of all puts nolimits on you he shows you what your real purpose in life is then those things you use to do you won't want to do anymore! You learn more about who god is and who he says you are!!

Because we are all human. Even with the best of intentions, we make bad judgments and act selfishly, at times.

The best we can do is to TRY to follow certain rules.
