You control thw volume iwth the wheel, when a song is on just move your finger up or down to control the volume. It's really easy!!!

When the song is playing, just move your finger around the wheel. The volume will change.

Depending on what style of ipod, it is on the click wheel. Thumb it around to the right to increase sound. Around to the left to decrease sound. If you have a shuffle, it is on the up or down on the click.
