They havent registered anywhere and I don't know what to bring, I want to get something that will help them remember this day but I don't know what!! They are really young my cousin is 20 and the bride is 21 they she wants computer software and my cousin wants tools but I can't afford that. I don't know what they could need for the house, so I am trying to figure out what to get them I only have like 100.00 I can splurge. Her software is over that and tools WHAT TOOLS.....I am trying to play it out like I already have everything. I don't want to look like I put them off till the last minuet. Plus they told everyone the same thing so how many people are going to end up with 2 of the same thing? What would you get any ideas???

Well there are lots of things you can do. Do you know where they are going to live and the colors of there house? If so, then you do a basket of things like kitchen towels, dish soap, scruppies, and decorations for the kitchen (or pick another room).

Or you can buy a gift card for a tool place (lowe's, home depot) so he can buy some tools, and another gift certifcate for a place that sells software for her. This will get them started anyways.

Or you can go to http://www.thingsremembered.com and buy them something personal that they will remember the day by. This website will get you started on some ideas. You can get it personalized with their names. You can get clocks, picture frames, a vase, or glasses those are just some ideas.

Or you could just give them some cash to spend!

Or if they drink wine or anything you could get them some wine glasses and a bottle of wine so they can share a romantic evening together and you can get some romantic oils and massagers.

I hope this helps out a little bit to get you started there are lots of ideas here. I don't know if they are living together or what they have and don't have in their house. If you want some more help feel free to email me just click on my photo and send me and email. i will glad to be more helpful. Just send me an email with more details about your cousins life (do they live together, what do they have in their house, things like that)

I can understand why you would be in a bit of a pickle about the gift!

;)

I suggest that you pool your money with another cousin or two and splurge on the software that she would like.

Orrrrr....buy a gift card from Best Buy or Circuit City or Fry's . Buy a nice card, write a heart-felt note offering your best wishes for a long, happy, healthy, prosperous life together, and enclose the $100 gift card.

Good luck!

Oh man I hate it when people neglect the registry! They'll complain that they got 5 toasters when it was their fault they didn't register somewhere. I agree with the first poster- put the $100 in a card and let them decide what to spend it on. I dunno, PC software and tools don't seem like appropriate wedding gifts to me.

Although, when I was a teenager, I worked at Target. Some people came through my line with toilet paper, paper towels, Mt. Dew and some other various stuff. They then handed me the registry paper. I thought they were kidding! Nope, the bride and groom had actually registered for that stuff. Apparently, they had been living together for 12 years and already had everything they needed. It was pretty funny.

You could buy them a scrapbook and materials to put it together so they can put in pictures from the wedding. Or, you could have a keepsake engraved with their names and wedding date. Picture frames can go with the scrapbook because everyone can always use some nice picture frames. Since they are getting married, they will have photos coming out of their ears. I also like the white towels in a basket idea and the home improvement supplies in a bucket. Those are both really creative and universal ideas that many people will like. No matter what, don't forget the gift receipt!

You have tons of options but a really cute and practical one is to go to Ace Hardware (or Lowe's or Homer) and get a NICE bucket. . . crumple newspaper in the bottom (to build it up) put some tissue paper on top and get them things like: A roll of duct tape, some bungee cords, an electric screwdriver, his/her work gloves, a Phillip's and a Flat Head Screw driver etc. . . and then go to Michael's or any craft store and get some cellophane--wrap it up with a bow like a gift basket. If you have $$ left you want to spend, how about a grocery store gift certificate or in some states the power company sells gift certificates. It would be nice to have the power bill paid, wouldn't it?

Otherwise a nice basket of fluffy white towels is always a good idea. Goes with every decor, can be bleached and hey, what young couple has enough towels?

At least they didn't register for underwear! I know a couple who did. Come on. . . not like lingerie--but tightie whities and grannie panties. . . yeah, ya'all can buy your own drawers!

I agree that money in a wedding card is the easiest way. Another idea is get them a nice album to store their wedding pictures and give the money that is left in a card. They also have the credit card that you can buy in any amount and they can use it anywhere. I agree with you that a wedding gift should be a memory of that special day.. But today some couples ask for the oddest things.

A unique gift....how about a gift certificate for a couple's massage at a spa or nearby resort? They would really appreciate a gift like this after the busy wedding.

Gift certificate ideas: A night at a B&B, their favorite restaraunt.

Have their invitation profesionally framed into about an 11 x 17 frame.

Like a Christmas wishlist, they have selfishly requested individual items that hardly seem a joint wedding gift. If you buy tools, you are really buying things for the groom. If you buy her software, who knows if it is software he wants.

Hi there,
100.00 is a fair amount of money to spend on wedding presents. There are many things you can buy...have they always lived together or are they as soon as they are married? You could buy them things like sheet sets, silverware, for tools...men like ratchets and screwdriver's...you could by an assortment of tools...just think about what you would need if you were moving into a new house...basically everthing..towels, dishtowels and cloth's...dishes...etc....you know what I mean...good luck...hope this helps you a little.

My brother is getting married on the 21st of October, and they have lived together for a few year's. I bought them some house warming gift's. I bought a candle holder and some candles for her, than I purchased a Lamp for their end table that matches their house. I tried to buy personal thing's that I knew they would like. If nothing else. Towels and everyday household item's are always good. There is not really allot of personal meaning, but just supporting them and being there for them may be enough!! Good Luck!!

Give them a $50.00 gift certificate; his can be to Home Depot, Sears or Lowes and her's can be to Staples, Best Buy or Comp USA. They can each get what they want. Maybe they couldn't afford the $100 tool or software they wanted, but with your gift certificate, they can.
