I know hybrid cars is good for gas but, my concern is safety reasons, towards car crashes/accidents. it's a small car, can it take the punishment. If you own one, and had a accident w/your hybrid, please fill me in with the some details. Or stick with a SUV?

You are not comparing similar vehicles. The hybrid cars have to pass the same testing that the traditional cars do. The real difference for accidents is that the rescue teams are trained to cut the car bodies differently so as not to encounter high voltage wiring.
Suvs yes they do have a better crash rating but fall way down on the roll over rating. So it's all about the same

That's a good question. My fiance drives a Honda Civic hybrid, and hasn't had any problems with it in regard to accidents. I definitely recommend it over an SUV. But you can always get an SUV hybrid, too.
