When we go to the track we like to hangout on the grounds, picnic, party, play the ponies , see the fillies.. What are the accommodations like, closedcurcuit TVS, shade, vendors, etc.?
Can they get soldout for this type of admission, it isn't a money thing, just a preference thing, I like the real people.

I live in Louisville and grew up around the track. They have remodeled the whole thing, and it's really nice. There is shade, though you probably won't need it. I don't think there are vendors. They can get sold out, so get your tickets as soon as possible. If you like real people, hang out in the infield. That's where the party is. There are several nice hotels near the track now. And they have reconfigured the roads near it, so that travel is much, much easier. If you like pizza, I suggest Wick's before you leave. They are awesome. There are a plethora of other good restaurants here.

I hope you have a great visit!

Ive been to breeders at churchill...its a great day at the track. The placew ill be jammed, and all kinds of folks...regular and snooty. You can bum around the infield, (its not a booze fest like derby day), and once the card get going, secuirty loosens up a bit and you might sneak up to the grandstand for a better veiw. You definatly need advance tickets. There will be scalpers, but buy in advance. Ebay will always have some last minute deals.

be prepared to wait in a long line for a taxi after the races.

For a night of dining out, I reccomend MRS. B's Veranda. We had a reservation there, and two days before, Mrs b clled and said a mistake was made..they were having a private partry that night. Mrs B would not let me rescedule..she had me and my pals to HER HOUSE for dinner! No kidding. I tol;d her any one i knew going to Lville, i would send to her. She had 135 differnt kinds of bourbon tp pick from!
