that all major religions think every other one is bad. If u r not a muslim then u are wrong? If not christain then u r evil etc etc? What is it about religion that makes u think the only opinion that matters and is right is your own? what happened to following your beliefs but respecting others choice in theirs? How can following god or allah or whoever else be a good thing when it causes so much pain to others?

Cate - NEVER assume, i haven't stated my belief here in any way. I was simply asking a question and u have proved my question is true.. just because U believe in god and U think u will go to this fabulous place when u die, DOESN'T MEAN THAT IS CORRECT! How could u possibly know that u r not dead yet? just because a book says its right doesn't mean it is

catie - lol u are very amusing but AGAIN u prove my theory right. Why are u getting your knickers in a knot because i don't agree with u? u r entitled to believe in whatever u want, i don't care about that. But u have NO RIGHT whatsoever to become high and mighty over me or my opinions because, no matter how much u believe in what u are saying U CANNOT PROVE IT. your answer is just demonstrating that u cannot have a balanced discussion without letting your own bias views cloud your judgement. OK 'darlin'

Its all about self Righteousness...Thinking that other people are wrong gives justification not only to your religion but to you...sort of like thinking your the best at something. Muslims and Christians think they were chosen and that they have protection of the "higher" power so they feel the need to act high and mighty. If they don't act like this then it makes thier religion not seem so real...To have true faith you must follow all laws and writings in your "books" or else you don't fully believe...thats why christians and muslims are so messed up...they don't follow it all and the ones who do they think are crazy..but the terrorists and christian fundamentalists have true faith cuz they follow all things...they don't pick and choose..and unfortunately..the things they follow are angry and violent...

I'm a mormon from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I don't judge other religions....they have the same values as we have, we are all worshiping our creator, and we are all striving to be the very best we can be as an individual, we all have goals and are all spiritually open minded and following the foot steps of God. I most definitely respect others and their beliefs because i would like to think that people would respect me and my beliefs. It most definitely is a tough world today as there are so many different religions, no wonder some people decide not to join a religion, as how would they know which to join? I was born into my religion, and i am so grateful that i was and just knowing the many things concerning past life, current life and the life to come has changed me alot as a person. And just knowing that those loved ones who die i will see again in the next life is a great comfort. Following God is such a great thing and he does bless greatly those who follow him or try their best to do good in the world. So my religion do not think that other religions are bad, not at all, for they are striving to do good in the world as also we are striving to do good, therefore we are equal. God bless you. =)

Well...if one takes a serious, unbiased look at each religion, the only conclusion one can draw is that no more than one can be correct. All can be wrong, but only one CAN be right. Therefore, each adherent believes they have the right one and anyone who believe differently is wrong.

The key to the whole issue is how each person deals with the differences among us. Do we avoid the issue? Engage others in discussions? Try to persuade others to joins us? or kill the infidels?

Just because some choose to do evil in the name of their god does not mean that God, or following God's instructions, is a bad thing.

well for starters where do you go when you die
people believe that is important
they dont want bad things to happen to people
so when someone goes around spreading the things you believe is wrong and potentially damaging their souls it is a big deal
it makes me sad that you have nothing to believe in and that you wont stand up for your God and the great things that he has done for you and for everyone else
well darlin,
ummmm
yeah i know its right because there is this thing
(i dont know if you have one)
its called a relationship with the Lord that tells me what is right and what is wrong
i have tried other religions and mine is the only one that could stand the test of time
so....
yeah mine is right
and the only reason that you dont like it is because you are unhappy in your own beliefs and have very little faith

knickers in a knot
haha
umm i dont no if you walk around with ur head in the clouds or not
but religion is a big thing in life
it should be the number one thing in ur life
yeah "buddy" ill get my "knickers in a knot" if i want to
why dont you go in the wilderness and do some yoga or something
see if you can find where anger comes from when people say JESUS SUCKS

I can and will only speak for myself. Following the teaching of Christ makes me a better, happier, more serene person. I do not preach to anyone or ask that they give up their beliefs. I have invited people to go to church with me, but if they don't want to, that's fine too. I truly believe that we all follow the same God, we just call Him something different. My religion says that we are to love everyone. I admit that is something I struggle with, especially with people I don't particularly like, but I am working on it. I don't think you or anyone else is bad because they don't have the same faith I have. Trying to turn someone towards God is a lot like trying to get an alcoholic to quit drinking. They won't until they are ready. Being too radical turns more people off of religion than onto it. Peace to you and all.

I don't think that anyone is evil. But, people do make the wrong choices.

Jesus told His disciples in John 15 verse 22: " If I had NOT come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin."

Do you understand what He is saying? Everyone that has heard the gospel and has not accepted Jesus as their Savior are rebellious. And it is not because they do not know, it is on PURPOSE. They CHOOSE to not follow God's Word, and/or they choose to worship other things instead like false gods or idols.

It isn't the religion itself it is the followers of that religion. It is bacuse man gets to have have free will and in that free will things are taken to the extreme. It doesn't matter to me what anyone person believes because it is their choice. I can't say what all I believe in is 100% right but I do know I love what I believe in and that is where I am staying, but that I because I am human and can be fallible.

If you didn't believe yours was the right one (not that there is such a thing) then you wouldn't be in it.

If people were secure in their beliefs they wouldn't feel the need to justify it to others, nor push it on them.

I don't believe in Faith, I prefer Proof. Religious texts are not proof, just ideas.

Maybe all religions were created by the same sadistic deity.
"God" could be nothing more than a sh!t stirrer.
Maybe He/She owns Yahoo Answers LOL

religion is a way to gain control overs others in society. there are many who believe their religion is the only one and believe they know what is best for everyone as they forget GOD is to big to be in only one place. there are many ways to travel to ones destination as one can walk, run, take a bike, a motorcycle, a car, a plane, a train, etc. etc. etc. and still arrive at the same place.
