Driving is dangerous as it is.
Restricting their field of vision is asking for trouble.
I have seen women, specially on school runs, with children in the back with no seat belts on, no boosters and the driver in a black head-covering. The only bit, of the drivers face, visible was the eyes.
In an accident it is common to be asked "Did you see the driver?" or "Who was driving the car?"
How is the average person to answer this?
In my view this veil thing is being used to undermine the law.
Those who claim that the veil is worn for religious reasons should think again.
I have checked up about this on a website, which says the following:-
Hijab (veil) is a traditional, not religious head cover that dates back to ancient civilizations, and is not supported or advocated by the Quran.

No they should not be veiled whilst driving.
What happens when they are in a accident . The big question would be can we unveil this victim or not. There would be a danger of unveiling the victim to look for injure, as the victim is veiled, seeking permission could delay medical assistence. The problem is the barrier, an issue which can cause alot of problems.
. NO VEILS IN PUBLIC PLACES

Definately not. As you can fail an mot for having a mark on your windscreen bigger than a 5 pence piece i think its ridiculous. On another point, I have to do the school run in the morning and have done for the last ten years.. since the number of women wearing these letter box garments have risen so have the number of accidents, not just with them driving, but with them walking out infront of cars. Not supprisingly it seems it is never their fault and no end of their muslim brothers and sisters come rushing to their aid to say they witnessed the accident and it was the other person who caused the problem.
Are we allowed to say anything... NO.
and only recently have they been made to show their faces to the driving examiners to ensure it really is them taking their driving test. Sometimes you have to wonder if they bought their licences from asda because if i have a hooded top on i cant see properly to drive... Try it sometime.

It seems nearly everyone is having a go at the Muslim society for no apparent reason.First and foremost, do the police road accident statistics show a high rise in road accidents having been caused by women wearing these veils? Obviously no such statistics exist! Then one may ask, why the fuss?
I think you are just trying to be nasty and you have never been in a car driven by such a woman.I find your concern to be very subtle such that if you are trying to raise everyone's curiosity as to what happens behind that veil, then be bold enough and ask any driver putting on one or better still, conduct a survey.
If racial integration is going to be fulfilled harmoniously, then let us be objective and learn how the Muslims live maybe our ignorance will be enlightened.

You're absolutely right, they should take it off, driving is dangerous even WITH periperal vison, if you block it out or cut it off completely, you cause not just a danger to other road users, but also yourself. It's like what Jack Straw said on his view about the viel. I'm not an expert on this, but the way I se it, when you have a conversation with someone in the same room as you, I assume its a face to face conversation, not a face to veil conversation, if this carries on, Muslims will order EVERYONE to dress, act and think like they do, and think back in hisory, who else has done that, exactly, the Nazis did, and look what happened to them. Also, the way I see it is that there is no such thing as "Islamic Law", since when did that "faith" known as islam, have a law? you don't have the Christian, Jewish, Buddist or Hindu law, do you? Natoins have laws, not faiths

No they shouldn't because it is dangerous. You are not telling me that they can see as much with the veil on as with it off.
But nothing will get done about it.
Immigrants have cottoned on that if they want something, just say it is part of their religion and hey presto they get what they want.
If I drove round with a balaclava on, I guarantee you I would get stopped by the police. Where's the difference?
Jack Straw has actually stood up to be counted and I hope this is the start of British Politicians sticking up for British people instead of sticking up for Immigrants.
If something doesn't get done this country will be like little Asia in years to come.

No, they should not be allowed to. Anything that obstructs peripheral vision should not be worn while driving. Want to wear your veil? FINE, just don't drive.
While we are on the subject, want to ride a motorbike? Then you have to wear a helmet. Can't wear a helmet because you are Sikh and wear a turban? FINE, then you don't ride a motorbike.
Don't say we are racist when we insist on things that are for YOUR own safety, and that of those around you.

those people do not believe in modern civilization, it is like they are living in 200 BC. If education was allowed in their country they would realize that certain things are just not logical, like wearing a veil to drive that is absurb. Education is banned in their country at a certain age for them not to be able to rationalize and realize that they are all equal whether female or male, they will never change their views about wearing that stupid veil until they are not fully educated, if they keep on blaming other drivers for accidents that they are causing they should stay off the road or go back to their country.
