My fiancee and I are 12 yrs. apart in age. I am 29 and he is 42. I forget most of the time that he is older until someone brings it up. The only real difference it has made is that I end up hanging out with an older crowd most of the time. I still have friends my age though. In your case however, 18 is very young in terms of maturity. It might be grounds for some fighting due to the simple fact that you may expect him to think and act on a level he is not capable of. Also, people change so much between the age of 18 and 21 because they are still trying to grow up and learn things about themselves. This often causes young love to simply grow apart. This is why I tell my young friends to not consider marriage until they are at least 21 yrs. old. So, the question here is what are you expecting out of this relationship? If it's commitment then you might want to look for a man instead of a boy( no offence). If your just looking for a companion to hang out with and have fun then his younger thinking might actual add to the fun.

Well it depends. Alot of people mature faster than others. So alot of times, you are not in the same place in life. Do you like to do the same things? Do you communicate well? These are things you should be thinking about but most of all, I would not be settling down at 18 and 22. Just have fun. If it works, it works...Remember arguing and fighting wastes more emotion than being happy. Good luck.
