The caffeine in tea can cause constipation by dehydration.Caffeine is a diuretic(removes fluids from the body).By removing too much water and you not consuming enough water the stool can dry out in your colon. This is one of the main causes of a compacted stool which is WAY more painful than just constipation.
The stool sits in your colon while excess water is extracted from it before excretion. If you're slightly dehydrated already this process will cause contipation.Don't give up your tea.Just try to drink alot more water.I'll bet that helps.
And don't listen to anyone who tells you that you need 8 glasses of water a day! It's a myth.

Tea can dehydrate your body, which leads to constipation. If you do not eat at least 12-17 servings of fruit and vegetables a day then you are not getting what the body needs to function correctly and keep you from getting ill and constipated. Added to that, you must drink at least 2 litres of clean, filtered water a day. Do not mix it with anything else.
If you do not eat the amount of food suggested, then there is a brilliant supplement on the market which will give you all those servings in one capsule. This will boost your immune system and prevent illness. I have taken it for the past 3 years and have not fallen ill, neither have I needed to take prescription drugs.
For testimonies from people who have had their lives turned around from serious illness then take a look at the story section of the following site.
Prevention is better than cure.
Take care.

Yes, some can, but only if you drink more than 3 cups...Rosa canina is used when you have diarrhea so when you use it like regular tea without having that problem it can cause constipation.

Everything I know about tea is that it is good if you want to be dehydrated, it turns your teeth yellow sometimes, green tea is good for your skin and it can help prevent constipation

Possibly, if you are suffering with this it could be caused by an intolerance to either the tea or something in the tea like the milk or sugar

Unlikely. Tea contains caffeine which can act as a mild laxative.

don't think so. i drink lots of tea but it doesn't happen to me. Just makes sure you don't drink to much tea with tanic acid, because it's the same thing as caffine and that has different side effects.
