Amen sista!
Seriously, I don't know how they can't believe, but when they are getting edgy with us believers, I tell them it doesn't matter if you believe in Him, He believes in you, that's why He created you. The other day, a Y! user said that when aetheists are on a lie detector test, and are asked if they believe in God, they say "no" and the test says they are lying! I thought that was cool:o] God bless us all, believers and non believers alike. Love

That is a very common perception among Christians, and I've run into it myself.

Let me pose a question: let's suppose I tell you there's a china teapot orbiting the sun. It's too small and too far away to see or measure, but I have faith that it's there. Do you believe me?

What if almost everyone you knew also believed it was there? And a lot of them went to teapot appreciation societies every week. There were paintings of the teapot, and teapot-themed music and literature were a major genre.

There's no way for you to PROVE it doesn't exist, but the chances seem remote, and there seems to be no reason to exist, even with all these teapot evangelists.

Then, someone tells you that deep down, everyone really does believe in the teapot, some are just afraid to admit it.

Don't you really believe? Hmmmm? I think everyone REALLY believes in the teapot. It doesn't matter what they say. Because *I* know. The teapot told me in my heart.

Just think about it. That's what it's like being an atheist.

I don't presume to know the mind or heart of another. But if we are going by the words True Atheist, I have met a couple. They have stated they view the whole thing like one would view Cinderella... a fairy tale. On the other hand, saying True Christian, would practically make it impossible for there to be one. Christian means Christ Like... Christ was Perfect... so in essense of the words themselves, there is no such thing as a True Christian... as none are perfect.

I disagree. I know many people that truly do not believe that G-d exists. It isn't for fear or anything like that, they are just expressing their opinion as i do when i say that i am a Christian. Some people REALLY don't believe in a supreme being and i think this question is awefully closed-minded considering your supposed religious affiliation.
Peace, understanding, and respect for all people regardless of their beliefs. That's all anyone asks.

If god came down and appeared to everyone then i would believe, as i only believe in what i can see, why should i take the words of men that lived thousands of years ago. Who were backward and brutal and used the concept of god to drive fear into men

You are indeed incorrect. I do not believe in your god and am most certainly not afraid of his hell. It is a shame you cannot relate to that. Respect my choice as I respect yours.

No, I think there are people out there who truly do not believe in a Supreme Being. I know lots of them.

I think there is some out there, not many. All those that claim that on this site isnt. A true atheist would not care to be on this forum trying to prove God doesnt exisit when they dont believe in him.
