Open communication is very important.
Never assume anything in a relationship. It can only lead to pain and misunderstanding. If you want this relationship to go forward make sure you can always talk to each other about anything. This person is supposed to be your best friend.
My advice is to tell her you are having very strong feelings for her. Using the word love too soon can scare someone but the above phrase can indicate this without adding any amount of fear. If she doesn't feel the same then you know where the relationship is going. If she does then you proceed to tell her that you are falling in love with her and need to know where she is at in this relationship so that no one is left in the dark or behind.
If you just hide it or try to guess you will end up with a relationship with no decent foundation that will collapse.
