What is the correct sum of money you're allowed to pick up without being a bit pikey?

My missus reckon's it's 20 British pence sterling (about 40 US Cents) but I'm not so sure. That may have been the case 10 years ago but inflation has devalued it so I think now it's probably gone up to 50p (about $1) - What do you think?

Its all money who cares about being Pikey. I never understand why people leave change lying on the floor it doesn't take much to bend down and pick it up.
